“Hubby got sunburned on the 2nd day on the island, even with lots o sunscreen. We had been looking for a wide brimmed hat big enough to fit his head and had struck out many times before this stop. Not only were the employees incredibly nice, they went above and beyond to help us find a hat that fit. He was also able to find a 50SPF shirt as well. Just an awesome stop all around. Mahalo.”

“The Kona WalMart & their famous wall of SPAM .. see photo !!Since World War ll, spam has remained an island staple. It's available everywhere. Even the McDonald's inside this Walmart, SPAM & rice is a featured meal.On the brighter side, the WalMart's in Hawaii have a huge assortment of quality Hula material for those talented enough to sew & craft. They also carry an entire department of Hawaiian based tourist items at prices far below the gift-shops. The 4 star rating is due to WalMart discontinuing their complimentary shuttle bus from the cruise ship dock to the store. This is a serious setback for crew members who need to stock up on personal items & can't afford taxi cab service. This store sits high in the hills above town & has the best unobstructed view of the Kona Coast & Pacific Ocean in all of this beautiful area's landscape.”

“The Wal-Mart in Kona had a whole section dedicated to souvenirs. They're reasonably priced items like coffee, candy soaps, key chains, mugs, dolls etc etc etc.Downside, no real deli section or a place for grab and go fruit or sandwiches.”

“This must be the busiest Ross store I've ever seen. Bargain prices, but the wait time in line can get long. High turnover in the inventory, and rarely will they have the same things back in stock.”

“Target has most everything we need. There isn't an automotive department, but if you need anything else, they have it. You can find office supplies, household items, seasonal items, baby to adult clothing, frozen foods etc. They also have ready to eat Pizza Hut pizza's and pasta in the front of the store for a quick grab and go meal.”

“I don’t normally write reviews, but I felt like this deserved a review.I just wanted to say that an employee named Kathy gave me such incredible service today. She was so patient with me and very kind. I know that sometimes many employees might just want to quickly help them move onto the next thing. But not Kathy, she made small talk with me and help me even place an order on the macys website. As I was leaving I heard her ask another person if they needed help too. What an amazing service. :)”

“I love target, and I love Starbucks, but the target Starbucks employee was not so loved by me I got a caramel Frappuccino and a a mocha Frappuccino, but I was very mad when they asked me are you sure you want to get that and gave me attitude? I didn't think it was very nice even though I was trying to be nice it made me mad and disappointed. I think, overall I still like Starbucks, but I thought he came on a little strong and rude”
