I helped one of the foster families with the kittens they were fostering while I was staying with them. I fell in love with two of the kittens, and they have helped me with every step of the process.

My personal experience since the changes to the name society, they don't accept pets. Especially kittens Because they don't have the space. I have tried other places like rainbow friends. They, too, don't have a spaces to take any. And everything has to be done over online through appointments.

Hawaii Island Humane Society is a private non-profit animal welfare organization operating two animal shelters on the island of Hawai'i. Our shelter locations include The Animal Community Center in Kona (Holualoa) and the Keaau Shelter. Both shelters are open for walk-in visits daily from 10am-3pm, except on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Shelters are home to adoptable dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, guinea pigs, and rabbits. Each shelter has a retail shop where you can purchase toys, treats, leashes, collars, and more and 100% of the profits go directly to support the animals. Come visit our shelters to meet our adoptable animals, learn more about our programs and services, and shop in our retail shops. Your support is greatly appreciated!
