Two stars only because staff is friendly. Customer service was also friendly, but I did not get a full resolution to being charged for 2 years with no dental cleaning. I was offered 1 year refunded and 1 year in-clinic credit (when I really have no desire to return). I do not recommend bringing your pets here. They regularly refuse dental care for dogs with anything other than a perfect bill of health. They also look for everyone opportunity to refer you to “internal medicine” for follow-on testing, but they don’t prescribe anything in the meantime. I am glad I got a second opinion. Day 2 with my new vet, and I already had 2 prescriptions to help with kidney disease and a dental cleaning, whereas VCA Kapolei just wanted to charge me tons of money to test further with no actual treatment. I’m sad I didn’t take my dog to another vet sooner.

Absolutely furious at being booked & charged $90 for a consultation that could not take place.I called yesterday to get a heart worm prescription refill for our dog and was told she needed to be brought in for a heart worm (blood) test before they would refill it. Naturally we requested an appointment for the test and the receptionist offered us an appointment for the next day. This was the main reason we brought our dog in.We were charged the $90 consult fee (and $100+ for an ear swab and clean they were only partly able to complete) before being told that it is still too early to test her for heart worm and we have to wait and bring her back next month for the test. This is not the first time we've been inconvenienced by Kapolei VCA, they previously had us bring her in a second time because the first vet we saw was a temp, and they would not prescribe medication for the dog until a member of the permanent vet staff assessed her.

Husband chose to take his recently adopted pet to this location due to close proximity to our neighborhood. Not anymore. Although front office staff seemed pleasant, technician was impatient and unprofessional. Will continue services at Waikele Pet Family Hospital instead. Had better service with our previous pet who passed, and treated with compassion and care.

Today we were able to schedule and be seen for both of my cats to update their wellness exams, vaccines, and nail trims. Everyone was welcoming, professional, and took great care of our fur babies. These two ladies even applied claw covers on both of our kitties.

I've been going here for almost 10 years, while some of their protocols can be a bit daunting and fiscally consuming I love the attention to detail, the wonderful staff, the follow through communication, and bottom line I feel like my fur babies are in good hands when they are with the medical team there. I recently joined the care club for my dog with the dental plan, and it's totally worth it. I encourage you to check it out if you're interested. Monetarily speaking it's a better way to go than ala carte if you choose to have you pups teeth cleaned.

I spent $980 for my dog that has allergies and the bill ended up being $1000 plus due to a "NAIL TRIMMING".So your saying $980 plus $20 for a nail trimming? I didn't even ask for the nail trimming. I could have done that at home. Then I call for another dog to have nurtured and I get a $200 plus quote for a "pre opp"Just out of curiosity I called and asked how much it would be for the neutering and was told $980. So basically over $1000 to get one dog neutered. I'm 45 and have many dogs in my lifetime and never heard of a pre-opp? Just another way to make more money. I get that VCA is a business but when you charge $20 for a nail trimming after spending $980 is a slap in the face. I'm sure there are people that can spend money like that but I'm not one of them. Might as well bend over and say bring it! If your looking for a great vet VCA has them but be prepared to bend over! So disappointed!!!

Horrible place! Don’t take your pet here unless you love high prices and are happy to see your pet decline in health. They are the cost cutters of the veterinary world(poor quality service but expensive prices). Plus they will give you an attitude when you can’t afford their astronomical prices. Oh, they have a military discount, but you can guarantee they only will give you a discount once. They do have a care plan but they only offer that to pet parents who the pet clearly doesn’t have pre-existing issues, Greedy much?? Don’t believe me? Check out their better business reviews for all the horrific stories!! Highly recommended looking else where!

I agree with previous reviews. Super high and expensive. Went from $45 exam to $80 doctor exam. Heartworm test is now $95.00. And one of the doctors Nadia Moline I had two uncomfortable encounters with her. I felt like she was hustling me for more services for my dog. You can hear it in her voice. Her demeanor it feels cold. No compassion. Do not book appointments with this doctor. Been going to VCA for 10+ years. Thinking of switching to Kapolei Pet Hospital.

This SHERRY MENDOZA is a horrible employee receptionist at VCA KAPOLE who answered the phone and hung up on me after she could not solve my inquiry for my dog's prescription. When i asked for her name and to get me a manager, she REFUSED to give her name. And then she hung up on me. Very rude and upsetting I had to call back to speak to someone else from their office. Sherry should be written up or FIRED. If you can't handle customer service, find a different job b*tch.

This place is a JOKE. They want $1,000 per small dog for a teeth cleaning and on top of that, $160-300 for bloodwork. Plus any extractions they may need. No wonder so many people don’t take care of their animals; that price is insane and quite sad.
