Paula Jo Barrett originally told us it was a software error that led to our 2018 IRS audit. We always felt we were in pretty good hands until this - our first - audit occurred. This is when Paula Jo’s lack of empathy became apparent. We found her unresponsive and very unwilling to help.Unfortunately we were lead to believe if any errors ever occurred with the tax returns she did for us that she would be responsible for any interest and/or penalties that might accrue. Not so. We were on our own. Paula Jo not only kept the money paid for preparing our faulty 2018 tax return, she also refused to pay the IRS interest and penalties accrued.Beware: Check your preparer’s qualifications: Look for a preparer who is a certified public accountant, an enrolled agent, or even an attorney. Find someone that is required to meet education and experience requirements, pass an exam, and adhere’s to professional standards. Don’t be afraid to ask for references.

Paula provides a comfortable environment to prepare our taxes. We have seen great returns since having her do our taxes. She handles our personal and business taxes with ease and everything is very clear. I always feel taken care of with Paula.

Paula the owner had 4 years of my previous tax filings due to income and deductions comparison review. 2 months later I get a call from a complete stranger saying he has 2 yrs of the 4 years with him as she accidentally gave it to him. I go to her office to find out that she doesn't know what she did with the other 2 years and gave away all of my personal information to complete strangers. The worst part is she isn't even trying to look for them and just says I'm sorry. I asked her to contact her previous clients to see if they have it and she refuses.

Paula Barrett is not reliable. She asked us to give her our past 5 years of taxes and now doesn't know where she placed it. Luckily one of her clients called us and returned 2 years of our past taxes that PAULA gave to him. But she has NO IDEA who she gave the other 3 years to! She didn't care or show any empathy about losing our PERSONAL INFORMATION. She didn't even offer to call her clients to see if she gave it to them. Basically she said "oh well." She is NOT TRUSTWORTHY, DEPENDENT, or HONEST!! Very upset as we are now targeted for IDENTITY THEFT as someone or some person(s) have all of our information!

Paula was fantastic to work with. I was able to file my State and Federal income taxes that day. I received my returns a week later. I have never been happier with any tax service ever. I look forward to filing with her again next year!

If you're looking for a tax professional, definitely contact Paula. My first time ever with her and I could not be happier with my experience.
Scheduling an appointment was quick and easy. Her office is located in Kalaeloa Professional Center. From start to finish, she was easy to work with, sweet as can be, extremely professional, and very affordable! What made her stand out from all the other tax professionals that I have worked with is that you can tell she truly loves what she does and is very knowledgeable, especially with the new tax laws in place.
I am a total geek and I research absolutely E V E R Y T H I N G ! Taxes however, not really my thing and I am grateful to have finally found someone who actually teaches me to understand how it all works so that come next year, I know what to do and what to expect.
I have already recommended my father to go see her and I will definitely recommend everyone else I know. Thank you again Paula!

Paula Jo is fantastic lady! She's helped me with taxes this year and has saved me a bunch in taxes.
