I'm giving this hotel a one star because they allowed a food truck event to happen on site blocking the coming and going of traffic. This is the absolutely worst one of the worst places to have a food truck event at.

I have stay at hundreds of Marriott brand hotels in my 8 years of full time consulting and this place in one of the top I have been to. The food trucks, BBQ area & pool towel "vending machine" BEST!

This is not a hotel for a business trip. This is a hotel for a holiday with kids. Extremely noise all day- kids in the pool, musical extremely loud at night. Clearly overrated. Service is the least friendly I’ve ever found for Marriott. On top of this hidden parking fee of 35$ a night.

What compelled me to write a review is because of the front desk lady who’s full of attitude and unkind. She really should not be in a service industry. Management should do a better job with training their front desk employees as they are the face of the hotel.Guests with EV vehicles will be disappointed that there is no charging area nearby.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this hotel. While the rooms are clean, I have consistently been disturbed by the loud events and music near the pool area. The bass is so intense that it penetrates through the entire building, making it impossible for me to get any sleep during my work stay. Despite my repeated requests, the hotel staff has refused to accommodate my need for a quieter room. This issue has persisted for over a week, greatly affecting my overall experience. Additionally, I have had to endure the constant noise of dogs running around in the room above mine, as other guests have been allowed to keep their pets. This situation has been incredibly frustrating and has negatively impacted my stay for a while and will continue until I finish my work trip.

Room was dirty with small debris all over carpet which stick to feet and hair on towels. Was rejected a request for sleepers, after complaints to hotel staff no solution other than one night parking compensation was offered. Had to checkout and leave the property hour after check in, as no solution to clean the room was offered. If service quality and room tidiness is a value for you - highly not recommended this hotel.

Awful service. We checked in at 8 pm with a judging note from Rainbow that we’ve booked through booking. We got a dirty room with somebody’s hair in the bath and on towels, somebody’s hairpins, and plenty of small dirt on the floor, and a Rainbow in the lobby went indifferent, saying there’s nothing she can do, they are fully booked, and she can’t change the room. At this point, I realized that we have a parking charge of $30 per night (she didn’t share this info when we checked in, just the holding deposit) because she suggested reimbursing us the first night of the parking—promising to send a supervisor to check the room for their standards. We said we wouldn’t stay as I had bits of paper stuck to my feet and asked for reimbursement. Now, they deny us reimbursement, saying the room was up to their standards. That is not my first time staying in Marriott hotels, and this is not the service I usually receive there. Keep away if having somebody’s debris is not your standard for a clean room, paying ₴400+ for a room.Rooms: Awful!

Great stay. Staff is excellent. Some food trucks better than others. Breakfast is subpar but you have your own kitchen so it kind of trades off. Good location. Mostly quiet. We felt safe.I would definitely stay there again.

Beware! This is based on the Marriott reservations team and the manager of the Residence Inn Kapolei. Upon making 1 reservation for 2 rooms (both kings), we decided to change the dates of our stay. As many traveling families, things like this happen. We called the Marriott reservations number and asked to change the dates. The representative changed our rooms for the dates requested. We asked the representative to check and see if there would be a price difference if one of the rooms was 2 queens as opposed to 1 king. It was more expensive, so we stuck with 2 rooms, both kings. Prior to checking in, we found out that the representative made a mistake and only changed 1 of our 2 rooms on the same reservation to the updated dates. We were charged a no show fee of about $400 for the room that was not changed and with nowhere else to stay at the time, we had to rebook our other room and were charged another $400 as the room rates increased since making the initial reservation in advance. The Marriott is blaming us, saying we "caused a distraction" by inquiring about the price difference (2 queens vs 1 king). Marriott employees, both with customer service and at the Residence Inn Kapolei, began blaming one another and ultimately, us. We opened a case with Marriott to review the transcript from our call to make the changes, and now the Marriott case team has concluded we were at fault for asking about the price difference, thus "creating a distraction".We only stay at Marriotts and have been for years. This experience, if not made right by Marriott, will undoubtedly force us and our extended families to find other hotels, and we will no longer be staying at Marriotts. We wanted to share our experience so that others are aware.
