It needs a lot of course maintenance work. It's sad to see knowing what it was. Vistas phenomenal. Design awesome. Bunkers and waste areas overrun by jungle. Tee boxes are like bad rough. Greens half dead. Shop Staff and staging staff very friendly. But needs a Marshall on course because some tourists think ...can't think... and hold up the world. Won't be back until I hear it gets maintained properly. Again. Sad. Wonderful location and design.

The vistas are amazing. The greens, not so much. Previous reviews mentioned the difficulty of playing this course and they weren't kidding. Bring plenty of golf balls!

They can improve in several areas which is why I'm avoiding the 5 star rating. Not going to get into it though because it's simply the best option for golfing on ohau. We played ko olina and turtle bay, royal Hawaiian blows both courses out of the water. Great lay out, incredible scenery, honestly one of the best courses I've played and we've played em all. Kudos to royal Hawaiian.

Our 2nd time at this course. We came back for the view and uniqueness of the course. Ocean view courses are plenty but not many are in the middle of the rain forest. This course is not easy. Bring lots of balls. Pictures do not do justice for the course. One has to come and experience the course.

This is a tough course but you HAVE to check it out for the views!! It's like playing in Jurassic Park minus the dinosaurs. However make sure to pack some bug spray cause you can get eaten alive. Nothing like playing in the jungle! This is a bucket list course for sure!!

Everything! Golf course is a mess, range closed. Greens rolling at 5.0 at best. No amenities. Course feels like it's about to close. Over priced. Do not recommend, won't come back. Has potential, but they've given up. Only good thing was the terrain is beautiful!

Great views and atmosphere for one round of golf. I’ll say the course is very unique and something I’ll probably not play in again.
However, they are lacking basic amenities you would expect for a golf course at their price point. Driving range is closed with no intent to reopen. They have a small snack bar and that’s it which doesn’t open until 8 so if you have an earlier tee time stock up on water as there is nothing on the course. Cart path only is annoying. It was a rainy morning and the front 9 was kinda wet, however the back 9 was more open and dry.
Overall 4 stars for the experience, but probably wouldn’t come back. The course seems to be on the verge of bankruptcy so play it if you get the chance.

Such a great choice for a wedding venue! The team is genuine and truly cares about your experience.
I visited last year to check out the venue and actually requested a viewing last minute. The team was kind enough to accommodate me especially with my limited time on the island. During the tour they didn't pressure us to close on the venue, and didn't push for unnecessary frills that we didn't need for the wedding.
Before making the final decision I was going back and forth with many questions after my visit and they(Heather & Layne) were patient and answered all my questions. I think the patience and quick response was quite telling of how it would be if I secured the venue.
It was a right choice! Heather was my main contact throughout the planning of my destination wedding and she was great. Super responsive, patient, level-headed and organized. I really loved working with Heather and she actually ended up being my Day of Coordinator!
The day of my wedding was the first time I actually tried all the food! Since it was a destination wedding I didn't get the opportunity to test anything but was really hoping it would all be good based on other reviews. My guests and I were so happy with the food!
The bartender (Darren) was also awesome, such fun and happy vibes to keep us going when the nerves came up.
There is a range of picture ops at the venue with the beautiful mountains in the background. My wedding was actually held after the rain but the mountains still look cool with the clouds!

The team at Royal Hawaiian Golf club are a pleasure to work with from start to finish. The booking process is organized and Heather is amazing with communication which is really rare for a lot of venues here on Oahu. As an event planner working with the venue plays a huge role in my clients events and the team I would recommend 10/10. The service team was fantastic and made our event amazing!! Thank you so much for showing up in such a professional manner and showing the Navy Seal Fathers and their daughters such an amazing experience. The beauty of this course is unmatched. The views outweigh the amount of golf balls you will lose here! So bring extras. There is no looking in the rough for balls that roll out of the fairways. The rough is the jungle. Good luck, have fun and enjoy the beauty this course offers on every hole.

Beautiful course. A bit difficult with the hazards but worth the views and very accommodating staff (we had booked a week in advance by accident and they were able to fit us in with no issues and were helpful in getting us in without any hassle)

The beautiful scenery doesn’t make up for the poor course conditioning and facilities. Royal Hawaiian has the feel of a place that’s about to go out of business. Stick to the resort courses for quality play on O’ahu.
