Knowledgeable staffBeautiful ambianceGorgeous modern plants and pots and everythingDog friendly Tables are for classes they are planning on havingI I came to Mari's gardens looking for a plant that I could hang in a glass on my wall...I know sounds silly but see my photos to understand what I mean. Anyways, upon entering Mari's gardens I had no expectaions since it had recently took on new ownership after Koolau had closed. The moment I walked I felt my jaw drop to the floor and I immediately grabbed my phone to take pictures and videos to show my friends. It is beautiful in here. They completely changed the vibe of the entire space which makes it more inviting and almost more purposeful. They have tables lining the inside for future classes and different types of pots to choose from on the back wall, along with a station where you can make your own terrarium too! The entire place is completely revamped and seemed ot have everything one would need. They kept the outdoor space with the green house and other larger plants, and soil area, along with larger pots for outdoor plants/trees. They also had a cute succulent area with a large variety to choose from. The girl I spoke with was really helpful and was able to guide me to find what I was looking for to fit my space on my wall with a plant hanging from a glass. She offered opinions and plants that were within my budget and never tried to talk me out of something (which has happened before at other plant stores). I recommend going here over any other garden shop, even if it is to just check it out for the first time.

We came upon this store by accident. It's located in the former Koolau Farmers Kailua store.Very nice set up; so many healthy looking plants and a very attentive staff. I think they're still setting up, but it's a fabulous set up! They were having a Thanksgiving sale so we luckily got 15% off of our purchase.I love the "planting" tables set up inside the store. Made me want to bring my friends in with our cups of coffee and sit there repotting my purchases .

I love how Mari's Gardens expanded their horizon...Oh congratulations on how her garden has grown from Mililani to Kailua, and though it's just a fraction of the size in comparison the love of everything plant related along with its humor is all there. You know you're there with the familiar "Mari's Gardens" sign right on the building as I overheard some thinking it's a cafe with two tables positioned right outside is taken back as soon as you enter seeing the various cool plant accessories weather you're building a terrarium or your own oasis the staff here are so happy to answer any of your questions.Out back there are plants, plants and more plants and what I love about here over the other locations is they have a huge varieties of herbs. Everything from Basil to Spearmint most in mini starter pots that already are thriving in the open blazing Kailua sun you know it will thrive at home with love.Parking will be the biggest challenge so plan your visit there are only a few stalls and the dead end parking makes it impossible if it's full. I've asked if they do repotting like Mari's Urban Garden do and said in the future they're planning to do so which makes gift giving a breeze from this garden of Mari's.Thank you!

Shopping in Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii...Thanks to Donna O.'s tip, I learned that Mari's Gardens expanded to a THIRD location on the Windward side of the island! (They took over the former Ko'olau Farmers site, next to Wendy's.)Mari's Gardens started in Mililani. It may seem far for most folks, but that property is gigantic! They're famous for the Instagram-worthy Maneki Neko (good luck cat). The second location is a cozy spot in Honolulu - the parking is challenging for me, but it probably is no problem for the people who live in condominiums nearby. This third store is wonderful! There are treasures both inside and outside! Inside, the displays of orchids and anthuriums are stunning! There are freshly cut flowers for customers to make their own floral arrangements and many pots to make creations on the spot. If you need a snack, local vendors are supported (Ubae cookies, taro chips, bags of poi, Huff 'n Puff snacks, NOMS candy, Mango granola, dressings, eggs, fresh produce, etc.).Outside, the variety of plants was amazing! Besides succulents, colorful flowering plants, herbs, etc., there were larger planters, cinders, potting soil, top soil, and fertilizer!I actually ran out of fertilizer yesterday. On the first day of each month, I feed my plants so that I can provide flowers for floral arrangements at our church. Mom does the arranging. I just clean up and prep. Haha!Staff were very friendly and helpful. As I was debating on which fertilizer to purchase, I was assisted without my asking! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I can't wait to use the fertilizer next month and see the results!I'll be back!
