Unfortunately most services being reduced. No longer helping the community opening at pre work hours 7 am is not sufficient. And it’s says they open at 7 am. But you can’t make an appointment at 7. Am. So. It’s just another business in Kona reducing services and no caring for the people. Who pay there wages.

As someone who worked in healthcare for many years before retiring here, the clinical labs staff and associates who work in their labs are friendly and amiable and focused on the patient when there for a lab panel. Their BILLING PRACTICES however are abysmal and should be highly scrutinized by every patient and insurance provider prior to paying their bill. That being said, Clinical Labs should also be referred to Dept of Commerce and Consumer Affairs here in Hawaii for misleading billing practices and sending statements to patient homes before final insurance adjustments by the patient's insurance provider whether HMSA or a PPO. Not only do they send bills without insurance reimbursement indicated but they also send collection notices demanding payment for payments without all (according to a billing rep they are automatically generated yet still indicate payment without adjustments included.) Hence, they demand a higher amount without adjustments when your insurance provider indicates a lower payment amount is due. I wonder how many elderly patients have paid bills when even their insurance provider hasn't been billed or all adjustments haven't been made through the patient's primary or supplemental Medicare? They say it is a staffing issue or notices being generated automatically, but that doesn't merit out. I'm looking into this further, but I would strongly urge Clinical Labs to get their billing practices in order to avoid either a barrage of DCCA complaints or a class action litigation based upon misleading billing practices and protocols.

Had to have blood tests this morning. Lots of folks, long line outside the office at 7:00 am. Once I got inside and checked in I got a chance to see the staff at work. Exceptionally busy yet they were calm and treated everyone well, as if no one else was waiting for services. They were beautifully responsive to the elderly. The techs were on the move yet made every effort to engage each patient. My blood draw was diffucult but they turned me over to the "blood draw whisperer" and her patience and knowledge resulted in success! Just wanted to say mahalo to these men and women for their professionalism and kindness!

Friendly and efficient staff, but plan on waiting in chairs outside before being called in. Hours are also shorter these days...
