Standard gas station with a convenience store - their gas prices, on average, are higher than other gas stations in the area.

I visit this location fairly frequently. It's a convenient stop for me when I need to fuel up or grab a snack. I usually stop there late evening hours, & have seen feral pigs. Lately though, there seem to be many more wandering about the grounds. I've even witnessed 2 large boars fighting each other. I've never been totally comfortable with the pig population, but it's getting to the point where I fear for my safety (those things are huge!)

Filled up the rental car before returning it on Dec 06, 2022 when heading to the airport. Friendly staff. Extra pumps at the back.

Working in the customer service for over 10 years and being a tour guide for over 5 years I recognize exceptional soft skills and customer service when I see it. The woman with the black short hair at the cash register in the evenings has always brightened my day just the two times that I have gone to this gas station. I usually only go to Costco bc they are the cheapest. But the shell gas station on Lako street in kona has a very great atmosphere. My first time grabbing gas I was rushing bc I have a commitment in South Kona a few afternoons a month. She pointed out the sunset which helped me take a moment to pause and feel gratitude amongst the daily routine of life. Then another time she gave the customer in front of me in line a nice compliment. Long story short. I find her ability to create a positive joyful atmosphere in a simple shell gas station quite remarkable. We all go to the gas station to fill up our cars and get in and out. So to experience an extra kindness and friendliness is really offsetting. Especially the way her service is still very fast and efficient. Now that’s the multitasking that is unobtainable for most. I’ve never written a review for anything. I’ve gone on ziplines, boat tours, fishing tours and snorkeling tours around the island. But I had to go out of my way to shout out to the shell gas station. I believe genuineness needs to be recognized. I’d say this lady deserves a raise but Im 99% sure that she is the manager bc why wouldn’t she be.
