Make sure you become a member by downloading the US Safeway app at least 1hr before shopping and verify your phone number and email. Then when shopping in-store, buy on sale items that say ‘member’s price’. You’ll enter your phone number (linked to app) after ringing everything through at the cash and will save tons on money! I saved over $100! Fantastic selection and great prices. Lots of beer and wine, ready-made meals and fresh produce too. Big grocery store. Everything you need and huge opp for savings!

Customer service is a joke. I purchased one of each of the items (see photo) yesterday. When I got home, I noticed on the receipt that I ended up paying $22 total for both, instead of the sale price on the label. I now know that Safeway placed the wrong label under the product. I happened to be at Safeway again today and decided to stop by customer service before leaving to see if there was anything they could do. I spoke to a woman (I wish I got her name), heavyset, dark hair & complexion. No greeting from her. I politely explained to her what happened. She asked for a receipt. I did not have one because I tossed it, but I told her I scanned my Safeway card. She said she couldn't do anything with that and brought up the receipt again. That's fine, and I understand if that is actually the reason. My problem is with her rudeness and lack of apologies. She made it clear from the beginning that she couldn't be bothered with me and my problem. I ended off by asking her if she could fix the label so someone else doesn't get ripped off. She then walked away. How she got to be a front-facing employee is one of life's great mysteries. Please, Safeway, find out who this woman is and move her to the loading bay to move boxes or something. She's not capable of interacting with humans. I'm sure there are a thousand other people on the island who would be happy to have her job and do it a million times better. This encounter took place at 2:30pm on 11/1/23.

This lady at The Cafe on Henry street were extremely disrespectful. I only asked for some additional soy sauce and the way she reacted was completely out of touch. It's hard to understand how she got the job, not sure what is going on with management on this store.

Nice fresh produce. Good ready made meal counters. Salad bar and good sushi and poke. Nice clean store. Could do with more tills though.

The market is very close to our Airbnb, so we came here twice to get stuff for breakfast. It's easy to find stuff, but I'm also astonished to see how expensive grocery is in Hawaii. The store itself is clean, and bright. Self check out works fine.

Good for a few items but overpriced generally. In a nice clean location, lots of parking.Seafood counter guy needs an attitude adjustment or just firing. His manner = his appearance. The Dole Royal Hawaiian Gold pineapple was on sale for 0.79/lb and it was pretty good, 6.13lb! Glad Safeway is here but we prefer KTA Super Stores.

Highly recommended Vs dinning out in Kona. Lots of options for convenience (hot n cold) food including fresh fruit + vegetables if you’re travelling and in a hotel or Airbnb type of accommodation. Pricing is hit and miss vs ABC stores but Safeway has more options. Usual supply items you’d find in a supermarket / chemist / flowerist. They also have bathrooms ( single units) and lots of free parking. My only gripe is customer service which is average - this has been a common theme with this island. And their barcoding of discounted items is useless at the cashier (self serve) eg rings up original price if you’re not watching and had to get server to update / fix it.

After a long day of traveling & a delayed flight, I took too long of a nap and woke up at midnight without any supplies. I started to panic a little when I was having trouble locating much of anything still open. I saw this Safeway was 24hrs, crossed my fingers & headed out. She's a big, clean beautiful store that's perched upon a gentle hill north east of Ali'i drive and below the Hawaii belt. The employees were all very courteous & welcoming. Some of the shelves had empty spots but we were able to locate everything we needed. There is also a pharmacy attached. I grabbed a sandwich from the deli and it was well made & fresh. I was also able to donate to the Lahaina fire efforts at the register. Mahalo for saving my evening, Safeway. Now I can wake up not starving and with coffee & juice tomorrow morning, without having to run out somewhere else to get it.

I visited this place while visiting Hawaii. I am from Los Angeles, CA and noticed that the price are pretty similar. I like that they have boogie boards, water tubes, snorkeling gear and many more amazing products. I got whatever I needed at this place. Must check it out. They have snorkeling gear for prices better than big 5 in California (under $20). They sell just about everything at this Safeway.

Very good variety of groceries! Found many items that can't be found at Target/Walmart! Many organic foods and lots of healthy/gf/vegan options. Would definitely come back.

NEW SAFEWAY LOCATION.. Yup! My go-to, ONE STOP SHOP when in the area. There is something for everyone in the family. Fruits and vegies, sushi, deli, COFFEE (⭐️BUCKS), flowers, balloons for celebrations, and more.. like I said, ONE STOP SHOP! COMING SOON is their gas station. They have workers in almost every single aisle, doing something (maybe cause they're new and stocking shelves?). (You can actually find workers to ask your questions) It's hard to pass up a store like this when in a crunch and need things asap when on the go for sportevents, family gatherings, or beach days!
