I tried to auto refill my Safeway prescription and after putting in my prescription number the recording said they were unable to verify that prescription and they connected me to the human number. It rang and rang with no answer. I have tried for several days at all times of the day to get a human to answer. Is it always like this? They never intend on answering their phone? They can't be so busy as to not answer the phone and then put me on hold while they finish with a customer. This is ridiculous. It is obvious that no pharmacy employee intends on ever answering the phone. I live 1 and 1/2 hours drive from Kona and really need to order my prescription ahead of time so it is ready for me to pick up when I get there. I only go to Kona once a month. I won't use Safeway pharmacy anymore in Kona since they ignore their customers calls.

They do not care if you get your medicine or not. We arrived before their closing time, but they turned us away. It’s a tragedy to have indifference in service/care professions.

It took them TWO WEEKS to fill a prescription. I waited an hour and a half the first day, contacted my doctor who also reached out to them to hasten the process, came back the following day and was told it still wasn’t ready. Then proceeded to wait two weeks for the script. This is the last time I use this pharmacy.

Need groceries while in Kona? Do visit this Safeway location. It's a large, clean, bright, newer, full Safeway supermarket and pharmacy, just a short drive up the hill from downtown Kona on Henry Street. Driving south from the airport, our GPS initially took us to the closed Safeway near the Walmart. Sad! Thankfully we found this new and open Safeway location. There's a large parking lot in front. The store was BUSY during Ironman week in October! Staff were actively working to restock shelves but lots of things were wiped out - it was that busy. We found some things on our list (bananas, salty snacks, cold beverages, laundry detergent, sunscreen...). What we couldn't find at Safeway we found nearby at Target. We'll definitely be back when we're next in town.

The pharmacist tonight was all by herself yet was getting it done. I can't belive how good of job she did handling 3 lanes, taking prescriptions, filling them, giving shots and checking out. Amazing workmanship.Get this woman some help Safeway!! Downright terrible to leave good employees out there by themselves.

I get so stressed every time I have to go to this pharmacy. My most recent, and now last, experience with them goes like this:I use NuvaRing for birth control to regulate my cycle. I went to Safeway the week I was on my period to make sure that my Rx would be ready for pick up by the time I needed it for the following week. I was told “it will be ready for pick up on Tuesday after 3pm.” Great. Something told me to wait, so I went in that Thursday instead, only to be told “it’s on delivery and will get here tomorrow by 2pm.” Annoyed, but whatever. Friday rolls around, thankfully I found my Rx # so I decided to forgo the line and call to check on status. “Your prescription is on order and will be available on Saturday by 2pm…”Saturday, I call. “Your prescription is on order and will be available on Monday after 2pm…” I’m supposed to start my Rx on Sunday!!!I get a call on Saturday around 3:30 with a voicemail from Safeway “Hi Lauren, I’m calling about your prescription to see if you want me to order it, please let me know…”I finally was able to pick up my Rx, but now have to wait until my next cycle to start all over. Thanks a lot, Safeway. I’ve switched pharmacies.

In moving to Kona, I had to find a new pharmacy to fill my BP and anxiety meds. I had mixed results. One of the pharmacists is very cordial, professional and there to help. The head pharmacist was combative and treated me like a criminal. Maybe she's had some bad experiences, but her customer approach soured my experience. I will find a better pharmacy when I gain more knowledge of the area.

I had a serious issue and requested advice from the pharmacist. She came over to the window, but never took her eyes off of her computer screen. She didn't listen to my questions and didn't offer appropriate advice. Worst pharmacist I've ever experienced.

Techs seem good. Pharmacist told me they didn’t have my script and handed it back without even looking at me. The tech had just said they did and then went to talk to pharmacist when I told them I don’t normally fill there. It is their right to refuse a fill but seemed pretty rude to me.

Empty shelves constantly. How they can have so many out of stocks is baffling. Way over priced too

nice, clean new store, but...Every time ive come so far, there seems to shortage of staff, usually just 1 sometimes 2 people, helping checkout. last time i went had to wait in line for over 20 min. with just 2 others in front of me., then was told by lady she sold all the anti inflammatory gel i needed to someone the day before, and suggested i buy it off the shelf for twice as much as my prescription. went to longs and got it for less, and they had it in stock.
