“We came here frequently while visiting the Island. It was a very convenient location for us & as a tourist, I thought prices were reasonable. Great selection of poke, baked goods & ready made foods. They also sell alcohol & have a decent selection of beer, wine & liquor. There were other things a tourist might be looking for... hats, sunscreen, flip flops & souvenirs to name a few. We usually came early in the morning & there was always a good selection of items. Store was very clean. Staff were friendly & helpful.”

“In response to the "bring lots of money, they won't bother with insurance" comment: compounded prescriptions are rarely, if ever, covered by insurance. This is something the prescribing doctor should have clarified for you when telling you about your prescription.”

“Costco Pharmacy is awesome. Head Pharmacist and the staff are awesome. They helped me with always having mine and my parents prescriptions ready. I took care of my Dad until he passed and they always had his meds ready and now I take care of my Mama and they always answer my calls and help me navigate any problem or need that may arise. I love all the staff and I will always be kind to them as they are to me. Nicole Lui”

“CVS Long’s in Kailua-Kona (Palani Rd) is always cordial and pleasant upon arrival at the store. My biggest concern is when calling the pharmacy service, the AI continuously “apologizes” because they “didn’t get that”. It can be very frustrating. The good news is that eventually, the AI acknowledges your request and confirms the order.”

“This review is in response to “Noname Foru’s” review and the visit to this pharmacy on October 7th 2024.

First off, I am the pharmacy manager that you spoke of in your review, and apologize about your experience with me.

There must have been some misunderstanding, because we do not have a “registry” for insulin or insulin syringes that we sell for our patients. Our pharmacy requires our insulin and syringes to be purchased at our pharmacy “registers.” The counseling window that you came to and asked me about purchasing insulin does not have a register, so I must have directed you to wait in line, and stated in some form to buy the insulin at the “register.” The words “registry” and “register” must have gotten mixed up in our brief conversation. The fact that my cashiers did not ask you to sign in on a registry as you stated in your review should validate this misunderstanding.

I usually do not respond to reviews, but I did not want your response to prevent patients from coming to our pharmacy that need over the counter insulin and syringes since this is a great service for our community.”

“The staff is very helpful. They tend to carry things that are not available in the big box stores. Sign up for an extracare savings card. I often get email offers for $/% off that I transfer to my card for additional savings.”

“Need groceries while in Kona? Do visit this Safeway location. It's a large, clean, bright, newer, full Safeway supermarket and pharmacy, just a short drive up the hill from downtown Kona on Henry Street. Driving south from the airport, our GPS initially took us to the closed Safeway near the Walmart. Sad! Thankfully we found this new and open Safeway location. There's a large parking lot in front. The store was BUSY during Ironman week in October! Staff were actively working to restock shelves but lots of things were wiped out - it was that busy. We found some things on our list (bananas, salty snacks, cold beverages, laundry detergent, sunscreen...). What we couldn't find at Safeway we found nearby at Target. We'll definitely be back when we're next in town.”

“I have to give this place a 5 stars for service.I was trying to sign up for the CVS card so I can get the deals (the price for mauna loa mac nuts are much cheaper here than target or walmart) but my phone number kept not registering. They were so patient and tried to fix it but in the end it didnt work. The cashier offered to ask someone to scan their card so I can get the offer. This was the best service.”

Saved our vacation. We are so obliged for everything you guys did for us. Thank you so much. The staff really went out of their way to help us quickly and efficiently. They were very personable and friendly. They were busy, but still got us taken care of at lightning speed.”

“Went In here to look for a Hawaii Tank top to take back as a souvenir, but I didn't find any. However - I did find some other items 1/2 price gummy sour Easter candy for half price ( it was soft tangy & delicious!) A beautiful aqua teal eyeliner pencil and some Dove antiperspirant as mine was packed and I was headed to the beach one last time. The store is older and could use some updating, but it had lots of regular drugstore merch as well as beach items for fishing snorkelling Ect ! I didn't realize that Longs & CVS were associated, but I saw some signage in store, checked my email and I had a 4$ off coupon! I wasn't sure how to use it as I didn't have the app downloaded. Lisa, a beautiful friendly cashier was so helpful & patient and finding my card info so I could apply the discount! She was a gem and truly deserves to be recognized! I only wish I had longer to shop around - especially at the cosmetics section. I'm sure I would of been utilizing more coupons & discounts !!”
