They got my dog in right away when he was injured. They were very helpful and cared for him immediately. Price for emergency visit was very reasonable.

I contacted Kona Veterinary Service to inspect my dog upon landing on the Big Island. They are always prompt and efficient which my dog appreciates as he's anxious to deplane as allowed post inspection. I will only use Kona Veterinary going forward.

The wait was long with an appt but expect that if a business provides good reputable service. With all the newbies that have moved here since 2020, our island doesn't have (or need!) the infrastructure to accommodate all these people! Front desk was friendly. We waited in our car till the nice medical assistant came to check us in. Our kitty saw Molly. She has sweet, kind and caring energy with both us and four legged kine. She went above and beyond to make sure we got everything we needed, was informative and really great about explaining everything to us w/o while speaking with love and respect for kitty and our whole family. Our little one was scared kitty needed two shots and Molly was so sweet reassuring her and letting her watch how quick and painless it was for her . Full exam, ultrasound and vaccines all under $200! We will be back in a few days to finish out her startup treatment and have her spayed. Also quoted a reasonable price for spay. Thank you KVS for being a place we can count on!

We have been taking our dog Mahina since we got her (about 7 weeks old) she is now almost two. They provide fast, reliable, and accurate services. I'm baffled on how excited she is to go to the vet! We will definitely be lifetime customers!

While I absolutely love Dr Jordan and Dr Walker, I have to comment on the office staff and one vet. Sometimes the person that answers the phone is polite and courteous and does her best to answer my question or schedule an appt for me. There is however, one person who is extremely rude on the phone. I understand they are overwhelmed as there is a severe vet shortage on this island, but front office folks should have some customer service skills. I also have had problems with Dr Milnes. I've seen her 3 times now and all 3 of them were extremely frustrating. She speaks in extremely clinical terms that the average person can't understand. She refuses to listen to anything you have to say about the animal, and worst of all, she always states she has no time to discuss things. She expects you to make a euthanasia decision within 30 seconds. It's a HORRIBLE position to put an animal guardian in. I have nothing nice to say about her. I will say that I will NEVER bring another animal in if she is the only vet available. Even if I know the animal is dying and I'm requesting humane euthanasia. Never again. I'll take the animal somewhere else before subjecting myself and my animal to her care.

We have been HAPPY Clients of Kona Vet Service (KVS) ever since we moved to South Kona from Northern California in October 2012. 10 Years ago, in 2012 -- we felt very fortunate indeed in finding KVS and hiring Dr Jenny to kindly assist my Hubby/Dusty & I with following the process of Direct Release in order to for our 2 Dogs (Murphy & Zeus) to make the relocation trans

Dr. Walker saved the day w our very sick cat. I am blown away how through, kind, and considerate everyone was. They got our cat right in and called to make sure we were ok with the cost of everything before doing any treatments. They kept in constant communication. Pls take your pets here and see Dr. Walker, you won't regret it.

I DO NOT recommend this veterinarian! The receptionist hung up on me after I notified her my dog had eaten rat poison and I was seeking help. Go to Keauhou veterinary clinic, they have an emergency veterinarian on call who is more than willing and able to assist during an emergency situation.

dr. jordan and his policies are a menace to the unsuspecting animals of the west side of hawaii island .i have a cat , now 15 , but 3 at the time i went to this vet . there is no question my little lava girl is a mean cat .she survived being thrown out of a vehicle while her 2 siblings were squished in the middle of waikoloa rd. . dr. jordans' response was put her down , there are lots of nice cats out there . next i took 2 feral kittens in to be neutered , shots etc. , they were so fabulous he wanted to keep them for his daughter , 4 year old sophie , so decided to test them . 8 weeks old . it came back positive for fiv . after 25 minutes on the phone he and his wife chartier convinced me to put them down . despite my pleas for an alternative . as it turns out and not mentioned by them ... kittens carry the antibodies of the mother and a better time to test them is after 6 months . and even then that is not a death sentence . of course , they failed to tell me that . those fabulous kittens died for no reason . given enough information , one can make an informed desicion . next and the most egregious ! after dr. woodley , the most fabulous vet i have ever been to , retired , back to jordans office i went with 2 -14 year old cats suffering badly from herpes virus . polu , her eye had come completely out of the lid . the rest of her eye was screaming red . the pain she was in must have been horrendous . we saw casy milnes ... i refrain from calling her a vet as she was closer to a torturer in auswitz . she put polu on human 750mg antivirus medicine , horsepills 3 times a day . the pharmacisist at costco initially refused to fill it because it was designed for a large adult not a 13 pound cat . milnes talked her into filling the prescription , but despite numerous calls from me , refused to return my calls .she and anybody refused to return any of my calls . i was desperate for both polu and emme , who both struggled with this hideous virus and crazy care . despite numerous attempts to reach somebody , anybody from the clinic dealing with some of the rudest receptionists , i went back to dr. woodley begging her to help , even though she was retired . she immediately cancelled all the inappropriate (incorrect) medicine , did an about face and low and behold both cats survived . if you care 2 hoots about your animals , run from this vet . i call them the macdonalds of veterinary care . what doesn't get done in under 20 minutes , doesn't get done

Dr Jordan and Dr Chartier are the best, compassionate and loving vets I have ever had. I had to make the decision to put my baby down and I had never had to do this before. They came and they explained everything that was going to happen and loved on my Buddha the entire time. I can't thank them enough for being there and for that brief moment they made a world of difference for my family in carrying out one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make. Thank you so much for being so kind and thoughtful. My baby has been sent to heaven in comfort and

We have been taking our dogs and cats here for many years and I am beyond disappointed with my last few experiences here. The receptionist answers the phone rudely and abruptly with a "we don't have any appointments" not even a hello first. Appointments are weeks out with no empathy for our 15 year old Pomeranian who was JUST seen (spent hundreds of dollars on her appointment) and needed a follow up appointment urgently bc she needed more antibiotics and her one time shot didn't do the trick. They said they should call it in but refused to help her. They have stopped caring and treat you with no compassion. I don't know what happened to this clinic but I am hoping things will change for the better for the sake of all the animals.

I have gone to this vet with five pets for about six years. I have dealt with the staff until their lying and the impact to my pets' health became too much. The awful admin staff are the consistent employees, and explains why they rotate doctors like they are going out of style. They do not communicate internally which means their communication externally to customers is just non-existent.

Recommend coming here! Great accommodations for Covid, friendly staff, fair prices. They do seem a little overwhelmed though. Ultimately for me I loved that they really do love animals (at least dogs).

My name is Kunu. I was taken from my owner by the Humane Society and Rainbow Rangers, because my owner neglected me. I am being fostered by a family who were alarmed to find that I barely ate, threw up a lot, had blood in my stool, had shockingly bad teeth. I would almost pass out from my conditions, laying there, almost senseless. They thought I might be dying. Though they had no prior relationship with Kona Vet Clinic because they were new to the island, they begged for me to be somehow fit into the clinic's very full schedule. Kona Vet made it happen and they saved my life. They did tests, prescribed medication, performed surgery. Two weeks later, I am a frolicking, energetic, happily-eating and chewing, bundle of sweet affection, ready to be adopted. My foster family is certain I would have died but for the compassionate, excellent care provided to me by the entire team of wonderful professionals at Kona Vet Clinic. My foster family is a customer for life! As for me, Kunu, I hope whoever adopts me will keep taking me to my friends at Kona Veterinary Clinic! They are the best!
