Fun pop up, pick-up pickle ball group. Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat. They can have up to 9 courts and expand to meet capacity. It's a community run place so they run off donations to keep nets and balls for everyone. Suggested donation 5$ per session or 25$ for the whole year. Super reasonable in my opinion. They have a regular play rotation and competitive rotations depending on your skill level. It is a sorta makeshift set up on some outdoor basketball courts so It can be crowded with cross court interference but it's all good and a good time.

Fun, welcoming place. We were visiting on vacation and brought our pickleball paddles. We found this group to play with, and had a good time.

Dave's Kona Pickleball MISFITS Team at this Pball facility is the Best of the BEST. If you're at a 3.5 level or higher, you will not want to miss playing with this great team. I was a visitor to the island ? for almost 3 weeks and ended most of my spare time with Dave and his friendly team... Fun in the Sun ?.

Found this place to play pickleball while on vacation. It was a great group of people to play with. Very friendly and helpful in orienting you to their player rotation system. Pickleball courts weren't in the best shape, but acceptable (and I've seen a lot worse)

I was going hele to the kieki ponds by the condos at old airport in kona, and saw a bunch of people. Most were seniors that were playing a game in the tennis courts by the Gym Id never seen before. It looked like they were all having a really good time, and most were very fit looking. Upon further examination, it seemed they were playing tennis, but with oversized ping pong paddles. How interesting! I inquired of a friendly seeming participant who was taking a welcome water break, and was informed that the 50 or so people gathered(what a relief the bans are lifted!)were playing pickle ball, a game ive heard of in passing but never witnessed. Well! Now i know. The day was overcast and cool for kona, so noone looked particularly overheated..If i wasnt on a shelling mission, i might have perhaps joined in. They all seemed very athletically dedicated, and friendly enough. What a jolly way to spend an afternoon!

On vacation visiting my daughter and dropped in the Pickleball group. Everyone was so nice and helpful. My daughter joined a lesson group then a couple hours later we got to play together. Great group. I will definitely step in again next time I’m on the island.

Such a friendly (and patient) group of folks. Very welcoming and solid players too. Thanks for letting me join your group, and thanks for playing with my newbie daughter. They ask for $5 donations, which is pretty reasonable considering you get to play pickleball in paradise.

I was fortunate enough to find this group during my 6 week stay in Kona! I found them to be welcoming and inclusive. I didn’t bring my paddle to Hawaii and they had spares they allowed me to use for about 3 1/2 weeks. I want to thank Todd, the club president, for making me feel comfortable and all of the players I got to meet and play with. I’m hoping to be back and will eagerly make my way over to the recreation area to play with this group again!
