Jacob and his team have been invaluable to our business. This year we transitioned accounting systems, and the process was seamless. Hannah was patience, professional and well-versed with the intricacies of QuickBooks. She setup our new accounting system, helped streamline processes and guided me through learning QuickBooks. We met monthly on site to train/help answer questions. I'm thrilled with how easy the process was and thankful to have such an incredible team supporting my business.

I own a small business in Kona. Burrill and associates have been doing my taxes for years. Their team is always on point, friendly and go above and beyond to accommodate. As a new business owner in Kona, I was eager to find a reliable CPA firm to help me manage my taxes and accounting. I had high hopes when I contacted Burrill CPA, but my experience has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing.My initial contact took almost two weeks, with the front desk apparently missing my message. Even though options are limited on Big Island, I was still willing to give them a chance. I was promised we would begin working together at the start of the year, but no one ever reached out to me to ensure they had my account information. I prepared all of the requested documents, but it took several emails and weeks of waiting to finally get a response from them.In the end, I received an email informing me that they could not take me on as a client this year, suggesting that I try again next year. I was extremely disappointed in the lack of communication and professionalism exhibited by this firm.To fellow business owners, I recommend looking elsewhere for your CPA needs. Burrill CPA's unresponsiveness and lack of follow-through left me scrambling to find another option for my accounting and tax needs. I hope that my experience can serve as a warning to others.

I was in need of a rather complicated accounting for an upcoming court hearing and was running out of time when I came across Jacob Burrill’s firm. I was greeted by Sophorn Clark, possibly the friendliest most helpful receptionist that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Sophorn’s positive attitude and professionalism made it clear that I’d come to the right place. She introduced me to Jacob who took the bull by the horns, rallying his staff to produce the accounting that I needed in record time. It is so refreshing to find someone who will take ownership of a task and make it work for the client. I am extremely thankful to Jacob and his staff for the service they have provided.

This firm might be OK for you if your taxes consist of vanilla credits and deductions. Beyond this, beware, especially if you have a business. This firm failed to grasp most of the less than intricate details on business tax law.

They never got back to me when I emailed them. So after a week, I called them and talked to someone about my taxes. She said that someone would be getting back to me. That was over a month ago. They were extremely highly rated on Google, so I thought that I would at least get a call back. Very unfortunate.

Burrill CPA takes care of all of our small business and personal accounting needs. Their team is easy to get in contact with, extremely knowledgeable, and capable of taking care of many different aspects of accounting. Jacob helped us with all our accounting and bookkeeping needs while we planned, and then built our business, and his office has maintained that same level of service and care through the last few years. While COVID threw our business into volatile times, Burrill CPA helped us maintain budgeting goals, apply for grants and disaster relief funds, and provided us with an excellent resource to navigate the changes of 2020. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone!

I started my own business September of 2019. Jacob was huge in getting me started in the right direction. He made sure my accounting will be up in good standing from the beginning. Making the tax filing easier for him and I. They also do my book keeping and I work directly with Krystel Carmelo Archibald. She made so many different tasks I thought were going to be so hard, very easy. She's able to explain account terms in a manner I can understand because I've never done anything in accounting, payroll, ect. She makes my life a whole lot easier and is always willing to spend the extra time, no matter how many times. Thank you to the Burrill CPA team for helping me with everything I need! Very happy to have gotten set up with them as soon as I did.
