We came here for our honeymoon and I have very mixed feelings about this place. The people there were very friendly and the beach was gorgeous. We loved the outdoor shower. The bed was also very comfortable. We paid to stay an extra half day since our flight was very late. The gentleman at the front desk allowed us to stay an extra hour, which was wonderful. That's probably the only reason this review wasn't lower. The "ocean view" turned out to be a pool view with a sliver of the ocean horizon far in the distance. Compared to other stays with resorts like the Montage, it was pretty disappointing. The atmosphere was uncomfortable for the average person.Room service was absolutely terrible and unbelievably overpriced. There was no flavor to the food except the items that were terribly over salted. Our food orders were incorrect every single time, and when I tried to contact them about it, they ignored my message. (They had no problem responding to any other message) At 150$+ per meal, I would expect my order to be correct. Or, at the very least, have someone acknowledge my concerns. It took 3 hours for turn down service, and all the lady did was empty our trash. The pools didn't open until 10am and were closed by 5pm. If you're the kind of person who wants to enjoy a swim at night, you were out of luck. This also caused it to be overcrowded during the times it was open. Swimming is also not allowed in the pools. If you want to swim it must be at one select pool from 9am-10am. You must stand and do nothing. I understand the desire to create a relaxing atmosphere, but it's a little ridiculous.Children were running around and throwing tantrums by the pool. They were left unattended by the ocean. We ended up back in our room with nothing to do. It was a pretty boring stay for us.They did put a bottle of $14 sparkling wine in our room, so I guess that's something.Overall, I do not feel like this place was worth it and regret choosing this resort. Waste of thousands of dollars.

Absolutely a go-to place for anyone who is looking for staycation on the Big Island! Room and service are impeccable. Kings pond is amazing for bad swimmer like me to swim with all kinds of marine creatures. The only less satisfying thing is the dining options are relatively limited. It would be wonderful if there are vendor machines within the resort.Rooms: ImpeccableNearby activities: Tons of activities thereSafety: Zero second of worrying about safety hereWalkability: Very walkable within resortFood & drinks: Relatively limited and bit of overpriced for what they offerNoteworthy details: No vending machines and there is a so called xxx trading company that closes at 6:30 pm

Most expensive place that we ever been to, but the location is just so beautiful. I thought since is a resort, I was expecting nice rooms and exceptional service. But I was wrong on both. Suite that we got was just like any other hotel rooms that cost like $200 per night but you pay $3000 a night here instead. And the service here was one of the worst ever. It seems that they really don't care. But they still expect tip for every little thing that there is. What's worst is they put out their hand and flat out ask for tip even though the service sucked, or they really didn't do anything for us. Not worth the $$$. Go somewhere else! Two stars for the location. Service was not even worth one star! Oh, by the way, the food that they serve there was not worth the $$$. Very expensive but the taste is ok, some were actually not good.

We booked The Barefoot Table Experience for our wedding reception. A multi-course meal served on the beach at a private long wooden table. Prepared by Chef Chris, this was the best meal any of us have ever eaten. The service was 11 out of 10. This is the only real choice for a once in a lifetime meal and their staff made sure everything was perfect.

We had the best trip of our lives. best property ever been on to and we’ve been to several resorts for work trips. Very helpful courteous staff, excellent restaurants and outstanding service overall. Please look at the pictures I took of the staff. They all deserve an award for Four Star Customer Service. Highly recommend for corporate trips. Family vacations and honeymoons. Just don’t go to the adult swim up pool if you don’t want to party. Miss the Kona coffee. Going to have to ship it to my house. Aloha.

I’m not sure where to begin. This was a trip from h*ll. Some of it was bad luck, and some of it was bad hotel policy. This is not a new hotel, they have more than a decade under their belt - it should be a well oiled machine by now. It is not.First, and most alarmingly, do not ever think of having a medical emergency on this property after 7pm or before 9am. They have ZERO protocol in how to assist guests who need to get to a hospital (in the evening the closest one is 50mins away). The best they did was offer to “arrange a taxi for $200”… when I was having an absolute medical emergency and needed help ASAP. We ended up calling ourselves an Uber. Matters were made worse when we tried to get back to the hotel at 1am when I was discharged - Ubers and taxis do not exist after 9pm on the island. The hotel had no suggestions for how we could get back until my husband made the forceful suggestion that they send someone to get us from the hotel. The following day comes, we have now been on property for 3 days. They have not cleaned our room a single time. For no apparent reason. We call and ask them to please come while we are at dinner. Spoiler: they do not. When do they show up ringing the doorbell and knocking on the door? At 9:20pm, after we had just fallen asleep after getting zero sleep the night before.More highlights: the toilet randomly overflowed sending 2” of standing water into the bathroom. Two separate mornings, guests in rooms next to ours thought it appropriate to take loud speakerphone FaceTime calls on their balcony at 630 & 700am, waking us up. If you would like a shaded lounge chair by the pool, expect to get to the pool at 530-6am to stake your claim. If you would like to have dinner at the Rosewood next door, they will tell you it’s an $82RT taxi… what they won’t tell you is that it’s only a 3-5min walk on the beach to get there…Everyone who worked at the hotel was very kind. In the end minor spa compensation and a room change were offered to us. But when you have a traumatic injury, no sleep and no relaxation the plot is lost.Safety: One hour from the nearest hospital, no protocol in place to assist guests having a medical emergency

We have never felt so welcomed and relaxed in our lives! Speaking for my wife and I (shared/family account) we had an amazing experience here. Lush, clean room with an amazing view. Attentive and friendly staff. Amazing food! Won’t say how many times I ordered the burger!! We made beautiful memories here and cannot wait to return!

Absolutely incredible. To the food, the staff, the atmosphere, the live music, the rooms, the views, the plants.. I could go on and on. True paradise. What I love most is if you need help with anything and I mean anything they will find a way to help and solve the problem or issue. For instance I packed a dress that had a sensor still attached and didn’t realize until I tried it on.. the boutiques on property weren’t able to help but tried so hard and eventually we got an engineer on the property and we drilled a hole through the sensor and it popped right off and I was able to wear my dress!! Didn’t think it was possible but four seasons made it happen! And it was a team effort. I can’t wait to go back next year and many more years to come.

Beautiful resort with so much activity. The grounds are gorgeous and the pools are all fun. Really cool to swim in the large “aquarium” full with tropical fish. The food was excellent but a little speedy. If you play tennis or pickle ball, this is the place to be.

Beautiful resort with amazing views and equally amazing staff and service! The place is beautifully kept and clean. The rooms were gorgeous. The staff were all so helpful, genuinely kind and attentive. This a great place to relax, unwind, and take in the breathtaking beauty of the island! Loved it!

For my daughter's 11th birthday, we spent three days here. I informed the hotel ahead of time and they had a birthday card, cupcake, beach bag, and stuffed animal waiting in the room for her! She enjoyed snorkeling in Kings Pond and seeing all the different types of fish and the friendly stingray. There was a large seashell pool that I loved. It is so close to the beach that you can look at the waves while swimming. The area also has a kiddie pool. Guests are driven to their rooms on 6 seater carts by bellmen on the vast property. Restaurants located on the property are the only ones nearby. Ulu Ocean Grille was a great place to enjoy sushi. A 15-minute drive will take you to other restaurants or stores such as Walmart or Target. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation on an idyllic property with exemplary service and magnificent views of the Big Island, I would definitely recommend this hotel to couples and families. We can't wait to return again!

Beautiful ocean views, amenities for anything and everything you could ask for and service that is almost obtrucively friendly and accommodating. This place is very expensive but so is most of Hawai'i, so bring your wallets full. Enjoy your stay though because you will never get better service and options than you'll get here.

Edit: it’s so weird they address me by my SO name. They made a note to ask my name when I checked in, yet I was never addressed by my name/last name. Constantly I was referred by my SO last name. And here we are again, even in google maps review they address me by my SO name. Why? So weird and makes me feel a little disregarded. Maybe some automated system. I thought I knew luxury, but I was wrong. Coming to four seasons is a nice treat, and sure it’s on the beach and comes with a ton of amenities, but what makes it stand out is it’s staff. They are all most caring and makes the resort a luxury resort. Everyone are so accommodating and helpful, which makes staying at the resort even that much better. When you stay here there is really nothing to worry about and you get a sense of calm knowing you are well taken care of here.
