“Tara Brown, who runs Ohana Martial Arts, is committed to her students and their families. Although her program includes great martial arts programs for all ages, Tara (Ms. T) as her students affectionately call her, goes beyond the physical development of her students. She offers social programs that bring students together, and she offers mentorship to her students by bringing in successful athletes and members of the community to converse with students. Tara realizes the importance of moral and personal development as she inspires her students to be the best they can be, still allowing them to have fun and enjoy life.”

“We, as diehard Elks, always make it a point to visit the Kona Lodge when in Hawai'i! This was our first visit to their new digs in the theater. Ukulele classes were happening that day! How fun! We soon hooked up with Trish, the Lodge Secretary. She showed us around the rest of the building and was very nice. (The lodge, in our opinion, has a long way to go in remodeling that building and it's going to take lots of money which we're not sure they have.). We also had dinner at their Friday night prime rib dinner which was very good. After sitting by ourselves for quite awhile, we were eventually joined by 4 other nice people and enjoyed their company. In closing, we do hope they'll be able to settle on a solid plan for their building and start work on it as funds permit. Wish them all the best; they're a great bunch of folks!”
