“Whenever I travel, I always try to seek out an Indie Bookstore! Whichever book I purchase becomes a way for me to revisit my trip after I've returned home. Kona Stories was everything I love about independent bookstores. Plus, there were cats!!! The sales person had great recommendations for me when I asked about a particular set of novels by a local author. And we each left with a little origami friend!! Mahalo for your hospitality!”

“This is my favorite book store here in Kona. They moved from behind the Natural Food store to Kopiko Plaza near UPS. So, Kona Bay Books is located just below longs in Kopiko plaza. It's been a while since I've been because I wasn't sure where their new location was.

They have an excellent selection of books about Hawaii and cookbooks.

I found great book. "The Kona Coffee Story Along the Hawaii Belt Road". It's a first edition copy. And, I think my bf's family is in it. I love genealogy and photographic history of my home town! My family on both sides had coffee farms.

I also found a great local cookbook. I don't know how to cook all local cuisine. So, I think it's cool to have a cookbook from the area.
