I wanted to take the time to write a review about this outstanding hair salon!
I have been coming to this salon for years now and every hair experience is truly the best! I love coming to Mara as she is extremely experienced with color and tones and knows exactly what your hair needs!
After having multiple experiences with local salons where they have fried my hair multiple times, this salon is heaven for me. From the moment yofu walked in, the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. Mara's expertise and attention to detail are so appreciated. She takes the time to understand exactly what you want and offers helpful suggestions to ensure the best results. The quality of her work is outstanding, and I always leave the salon feeling refreshed and confident with my new look. I highly recommend Mara and the team at Beauty Lux I for anyone seeking top-notch hair care in Kailua Kona.

Mara McDaniel did amazing in my hair and makeup for our vow renewal ceremony. She took her time to find out what I liked and wanted before starting on my hair and makeup. If I'm ever on the island and need her services again, I will definitely be back.

I booked an appointment with Mara for my bridal hair and makeup after reading great reviews and it was one of the best decisions I've made! Mara did an absolutely outstanding job on my beach wedding look. I showed her a few inspo photos and she gave me exactly the look I was hoping for. I couldn't be more pleased with the results! The salon is also a beautiful, calming space, a perfect place to relax and get ready for your big day. I would not hesitate to recommend Mara at Beauty Lux, she is the best!

Don't forget a salon without a good hair dresser is just another salon. This salon is not focused on long term customer relationships. They are focused on the weddings. This salon is run by young, inexperienced girls that really do not listen when you tell them what you want. The owner, Mara, is rude and unreliable. Brittany is right out of beauty school and really knows nothing about color. Unless you're looking for a simple trim stay away from Brittany. Mara is good with color, most of the time... but would you want to risk it with YOUR hair. Having my own experience and speaking with others in the community we agree, beautiful place, horrible, inexperienced, rude owner, who quite frankly needs A LOT MORE EXPERIENCE, patience and more experienced hair dressers!!!!
If your getting married, great place. Anything else, go elsewhere.

I took the plunge with Chantelle for a cut and color correct and I'm so happy I did. She's professional, kind talented & magical in her abilities to listen to my vision. I have had so many compliments already and have recommended her to everyone who asked who did me! She will be booked up months in advance once the word gets out! Thank you Chantelle , I'm so glad I found you !

Made an appointment for my daughter drove 30 min to get there only for them to cancel on me 10 min before the appointment…. Had to drive back home the 30 min and still couldn’t get a rescheduled appointment. Extremely unprofessional and would never recommend this business to anyone

It took me a while to leave this review because I was enjoying my honeymoon lol, but if I could give Mara 10 stars out of 5 I would. I don't wear makeup but I was eloping on the Big Island and I wanted my pictures to look like me but better. Of course, I didn't know how to express this but Mara caught on right away and honestly guys, I didn't want to take it off. I felt so beautiful, my skin was glowing and my hubby loved it. It didn't feel heavy at all, especially for a beach wedding, and even the eyelashes felt normal for a newbie to wear. She also was soooo nice and really took her time with my makeup. I would not hesitate to go back to her or recommend her to my friends. Thanks Mara!!

Made an appointment for gel x and two days before my appointment they ask me what I wanted and to send a photo. I sent a photo of gel x nails with natural pink polish and they said they didn't have that color and don't do acrylics and then canceled my appointment on me without telling me. Seems like they just don't want business.
