We were given a replacement vehicle due to the one we originally reserved being in an accident, the vehicle we got drove very hard, shifting hard and acted weird, after having the car 1 day it broke down on the highway, we were stuck on the road for almost 2 hours waiting for the tow truck to come. The owner of this company was off island at the time and told us when he got back he would get us another vehicle. The tow truck came and took the car leaving us on the side of the road to get a Lyft. We NEVER heard back from the owner, instead I got a message saying we would be refunded, he didn't even try and arrange another car for us and we have 3 kids with us. No contact about it, nothing.
Once I did get the refund it was not the full amount, I was shorted which was absolutely not cool.
Do NOT rent from them, they don't care about their customers at all, if they did they would no have left a family of 6 stranded for HOURS with no car and end up not even trying to get us a replacement and then on top not give us a FULL REFUND when the car breaking down was not our fault at all.
HORRIBLE customer service. What a way to ruin a family vacation. DONT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!! YOU WILL BE SCREWED
The NAME on the Reservation is AMBER MALMSKOG... Amber Matsushima is my Google account from before I was married. And yes ALL Of that I listed is CORRECT!!!! WE RENTED FROM YOU JULY 14TH TO 26TH but had the car 1 day!!!

My party of nine were stranded at the airport given that Allsave (a terrible company) left us stranded without the 12 passenger van we rented. After reserving with Allsave, the week before the trip, I noticed that Rent for Less had a better price on the same van—however, I did not want to cancel with Allsave at the last minute. When I was stranded, I called Rent for Less, and he was price gouging me as he knew I was desperate. We haggled a bit but I then ended up renting with a more reputable company, Cruisin’ Maui! Cruising’ Maui is a top notch establishment and you should check them out—they have all 5 star reviews which I have never seen for a car rental company. Big thanks to Cruisin’ Maui for not taking advantage of desperate travelers. Shame on you, Rent for Less, for being out second bad experience on Maui 30 minutes within our arrival!

Experience with this company was great! Will definitely use them again on our next trip to Maui. The owner was super nice and helpful. Process was efficient.

Rudy and Daniela were great. The van worked perfect for our family-of-six vacation. In addition, they went out of their way to FedEx a couple bags we accidentally left in the van. I just sent them a shipping label, and they packed the bags and took them to the FedEx office. Thank you again!

Sorry long post. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! Had a horrible experience just last week. We made a reservation for a 2019 Nissan Rouge. Got a confirmation number for this SPECIFIC car. I called the next day and it went straight to text. I should have known communication was going to be a problem. Businesses should answer phone calls, not reply via text only. I inquired about a toddler car seat and was told they didn't rent them out. That was OK, we were just asking to cut down on our baggage. Was asked for our confirmation number. Once I replied, I received no further texts. When we arrived in Maui, we got to the car and it was a small, beat up hatchback with bald tires!! We are a family of 5 with a toddler. There wasn't enough room for our 1 suitcase 2 carry ons and small stroller. We contacted the company again and they gave us a line that there was a recall on the Nissan so they replaced it with "another SUV". First, why not say that to us when we FIRST contacted them 2 days before? Second a hatchback is NOT an SUV. My husband told them this wasn't an SUV and asked for another car but was told nothing was available. He asked for at least a price adjustment, which should have been OFFERED, since this clearly is not the same vehicle type, and was told they'd have to cancel everything. We would have no car then and we were stuck with our 3 kids and luggage away from the airport. We finally got our luggage to fit by removing the back cover but we had to drive with it resting on top of the carseat and the driver and front passenger head rests. Once we started driving, the airbag light kept coming on. We hated our experience with this company and unlike many others, we were not able to afford to cancel and rebook with someone else. Once we got to our hotel, we left the car there and took a trolley to local places. We didnt get to see much of the island but we did the best for our kids. Honestly, don't waste your money, time, or energy on these guys. Really disappointing

DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, USE THIS COMPANY! I found Rent For Less Maui online and they and I communicated by text originally. We were looking for a 12 passenger van for our large family. RFLM had what we were looking for and it was fairly affordable. I filled out the paperwork, made the reservation, and paid the fee. RFLM sent me pick-up directions (take an uber from the airport to the office) and we thought all was good. Lo and behold, we flew into Kahului and I took an Uber to the office - only to find it locked up with no one there. I could see the van inside the gate, but the gate was padlocked. I called. No answer. I texted. No response. After nearly 30 minutes while my family was waiting at the airport, I received a call from a gentleman who rudely told me to check my email and hung up. So, I checked my email. Nothing. Again, I called and texted. Finally, he same gentleman called back. He asked my last name and told me the reservation had been canceled. No reason why, no explanation. Just that it had been canceled and there was nothing he could do, then he hung up again. So, Rent For Less Maui had canceled my reservation, did not inform me either by text, email, or phone, and left me and my family stranded in Maui. Fortunately, we found two minivans with a reputable company for about the same price and were able to enjoy a vacation. But, it was a frustrating start.

Overall not ideal rental after showing up to receive car, was notified of AC problem. Alot of leg work in volved also to rent. Was told I would receive 20% credit only to get handed a 20.00 bill upon return 29.00short. will pass on next rental.

Owner is a scammer, still renting out heavily damaged cars that are nothing like the description. Reported something I found on the vehicle (duct tape on the engine under tray) and he made me pay for his brand new engine undertray instead of fixing his own duct tape repair job... All of these reviews are faked and staged, let this be a warning before you rent from this guy...
