Hey, you guys remember those power lines that you said totally weren’t your fault for causing any fires? And as the song goes, “We Didn’t Start The Fire,” is your new motto, it’s just a coincidence for sure. Because you completely and totally did everything you could, didn’t you?

The power line you say caused the fire, were caused by your neglect as a company to maintain them. Too bad your whole facility didn’t burn down as well. Pathetic to think that you have the audacity to make victims of a disaster you caused pay for any of this.

If the rule is true that you should have shut the power lines down during the high winds and the poles and lines fell, which helped to start the fires in Maui, I would say that is pretty negligent to allow that to happen and is borderline criminal negligence. If I am wrong, I will delete this review.

We're all for helping to get the community on solar but Hawaiian Electric Customer Grid Supply-Plus program is not clear and after speaking and writing to at least 3 people its no more clear than when we started. For all considering solar be prepared to be thoroughly confused with how credits work and they will not give you a straight answer or explain in simple terms.

Nobody there to help you. Shameful; They take government money and have the monopoly on this utility. They say permanent closed for walk up customer service. Cannot like this.

It rained really hard in Kahana a few days ago and one of the transformers blew out near my condo and the power was out for a bit but it came right back on. When I woke up the next day, my fridge and AC didnt' have power, but the rest of the house was fine. I called Maui electric and spoke with Kevin. He was immediately on top of it and sent out an someone to look at it. It was addressed within an hour. These guys are the greatest. Mahalo for your service.

Never officially moved in or paid to have service cut on but ended up with an outrageous bill. We moved to the mainland and was stuck with a bill that made zero sense. No one has reached out to resolve this matter

Maui Electric employees are Right-on from the aunties at bill paying to the trouble-shooting guys out in the rain and wind in the Hurricanes. Beautiful easy to use website. I Love the RECIPES In 1926, Hawaiian Electric Company started its Home Services Department, and began demonstrating the benefits and uses of electrical appliances to residents of Hawaii Or, "A Hundred Years of Island Cooking" recipe book. Barbequed Short Ribs Ingredients: 3 tablespoons salad oil 1 clove garlic, minced 3 pounds short ribs, cut into serving pieces 3 onions, sliced 3/4 cup catsup 1 cup beef broth 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar 1 tablespoon brown sugar 1 teaspoon curry powder 1 teaspoon paprika 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard 1/4 teaspoon chili powder 1/8 teaspoon pepper Directions: In a large skillet, heat oil. Add garlic and short ribs; brown ribs well on all sides. Put ribs into a large casserole; cover with sliced onions. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over ribs. Cover and bake at 350°F for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, or until meat is tender. Makes 6 servings. To cook the ribs in a slow cooker: After browning the ribs, place it in a slow cooker, on top of the sliced onions. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over ribs. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.

Maui electric is a good electric service provider to the island of Maui. The office staff are great the people that work in the field are great people and it is a well run company. But I have a question: why haven't the rates they charge gone down proportionately to the price of oil? In August of 2013 the price for a barrel of oil was $103. Now the price of oil is less than half at $41 per barrel. In 2013 Maui electric was charging .39 cents per KWH. Now they are charging .29 cents per KWH. Does anyone else feel like we are getting ripped off??
