Even though I wasn't able to find what I needed, the manager was remarkably kind and helpful. The best service I've had anywhere in a while. One of the reasons Hawai'i is such a special place to live. mahalo

Boards were junk. Staff not helpful. Charged a full day for being a little late. Way better and more convenient places to rent.

I've purchased two board bags and many other items from the Kahului store. Their gear is excellent quality and priced well. The Kahului store is big with a lot of great outdoor and water sports gear. The customer service is awesome, the staff is extremely helpful. Definitely a great place to get your gear.

Boy this store has a lot of everything. We purchased some shorts but I know we will be returning for some new Maui Jim's for me and some other fun items to enjoy the Maui weather. All of the staff were helpful. Alina and Jeremy were supportive. If you need boards or clothes. Glasses or water bottles, this is a good place to go to.

I recently rented a SUP Foil board from Hi-Tech for 4 days. They have a great selection of equipment in excellent condition (the carbon paddle they gave me was brand new). Rental prices are very fair. It was great to be able to come back to the shop and switch board at anytime. The best part was the service. JP is the guy who helped me and he had great advice on the equipment, where to foil, etc. He really cared, and was genuinely trying to make sure I had the best time foiling on Maui. On another occasion I stopped at the shop to ask for advice on where to foil and another person (didn't ask for his name) also gave me great advice. Those guys played a big role in making my trip a success. I very highly recommend Hi Tech if you're coming to Maui for water and wind sports.

Wide variety of products and the employees were super helpful when I can in for skimboard repairs. Mark in the surf repair shop was super helpful and wrote me a step-by-step list of what to do to help repair my board.

Rented two boards for five days. Mark was cool and loaned me racks (after tightening the straps make sure you pull up on the tabs so the teeth dig in and they do not let go). I swapped one board halfway through, which was free. Great board, great advice, and great products. It may be the best surf store I visit and I have been to many. I think its the VW bug on the ceiling that did it.

Hi-Tech has excellent customer service! Wow! I came in the wrong door and Steve, who was working on a surfboard, dropped everything to go help me find roof rack pads. Then he put them on to see if they fit! That's what I call customer service! And on return visits, other staff have helped me find things too, answer questions, suggest ideas, the lot. They have a huge range of equipment, too - have always been able to find what I needed there. They want to help you! Visit and feel the difference. I would give ten stars if I could. Excellent.

Top notch gear. Your real core surf shop experience. Featuring your fav brands like Pyzel, Channel Island, ...Lost, FireWire, SlaterDesign, Dan Mann and more. Extensive skate, SUP, Foil, Kite sections. Awesome hardgood accessories and clothing for men and women. My girlfriend and I dropped $250 shopping clothes and surf fins the other day.

Great service from Steve at HiTech. Ordered a new foil SUP and it turned out I was a foil SUCK... too small, too advanced but Steve said to just ship it back and he will exchange it for something more grommable? kook-friendly? Great prices even with having to pay freight from Maui via Aloha Air Cargo. If you can't find it at your local shop, give HiTech on Maui a call. Mahalo Steve!

This place needs to greet all their customers and I mean all customers , especially if you're a local and brown. We have money and want to buy things. Not there to steal . Always feel that vibe at the kahului store, so I stop going there. Paia store is awesome. If kahului was like Paia I would definitely return.

Huge store Amazing selections Whatever it is you’re looking for you’ll find it here...all your water sport needs ....you name it. We also love stocking up on the huge surf shirt and hat selections. We actually purchase boards here to ship back to the mainland, and there are rental options as well. The owner, Kim, is literally one of the nicest guys on the entire planet. ...not even kidding....and his staff/ sales personal reflect his Aloha Spirit.

Best rentals in Maui. They have such a great selection of boards and the staff is super helpful. A reasonable board rental shop like this is hard to find - wish they had locations in all of the cities I travel to. Not sure of the guy's name who helped me - the one who runs the blog - super helpful.
