Choose Island Auto Storage!! After looking at the options on Maui, I decided to go with this company for a number of reasons: 1) Their website is easy to use and all of their services can be booked and taken care of completely online. 2) When I did have follow up questions, they got back to me with a friendly phone call or email. 3) They make it so easy on you! All you have to do is drop off the spare key with them in advance (in Kahului), and when you take your trip, they pick the car up at the airport! No needing to organize rides, asking friends etc...they take care of it!We were off island for a long trip, and when we returned, the car was very close to baggage claim and SPARKLING clean (inside and out). I had my doubts that a service like this would be so smooth, but Island Auto Storage completely blew me away with their 5-star service.If you're heading off island, and want someone to really take care of your vehicle, and want it to be absolutely effortless to organize the whole experience, choose this company!

I purchased a car from shelton for well above market value in fall of 2021 trusting him that it was in excellent condition. When I picked it up, it had a flat tire and hadn't been washed, the gas tank was empty, and the windshield wiper fluid was empty. I should have taken my money back right then, but brian wasn't around and I had to get to work so I just called and complained. I also ended up having to pay back taxes because it wasn't registered. All things that I recognize are my fault because I paid him upfront, trusting him.. the tire continued to leak, though he wouldn't fix this, he agreed to fix the hose that attached the air filter to the carburetor (that had just been ducktaped before), months later after he got around to it, he put it on backwards (see picture below) and it broke again (I bought the part and replaced it myself the following week.) I took the car to the dealer to check out before selling it because I didn't want to cause the same problems for someone else. there I found that the nut that holds the tie rod end from the rack and pinion was never tightened on the driverside, the cotter pin was just put in without tightening the nut. I recently talked to the person I sold the car to and they indicated that they had to have it fixed and their mechanic said that it was previously repaired negligently. The list goes on. again, its my fault for trusting him, and I can thank him for that lesson learned. I highly recommend everyone save their time, money, and energy and just move on to someone with integrity.

We used the services of Island Auto Storage for the first time in July of this year. Brian and Patty arranged to pick up the car for us. When we returned to Maui in August, the car was exactly where we were told we would find it. It was freshly washed and parked only a couple hundred feet from the baggage area at OGG. The service was exactly as promised. In addition, we were relieved our car was parked in a safe environment while we were off the Island. Brian and Patty get a well-deserved 5 stars.

I parked my rental Jeep Wrangler in a local grocery store parking lot and someone must've backed into it & a big dent without even leaving a note. I called another auto collision shop in Lahaina and they told me it would take 12 weeks to even see the vehicle. I spoke with Brian and he said to take it the next day look at it right away and had a repaired in less than an hour for just $200 cash. It probably would've cost me $800 bucks to have that bumper repaired (or more to have it replaced) through Budget. Plus it would have been a hassle to have to deal with returning a damaged to Budget at the airport return. His repair shop is just a little out of town but well worth the drive down from Napili. They took it in right away, did a great job in not even an hour, and made it look better than new. Brian & his guys are super nice, professional, and pretty funny as well. Refreshing to have such excellent customer service on such a laid-back Island like Maui where everyone else is truly on island time. Cheers! DocMikeChiro

Island Auto Storage is awesome. They communicated with the car shipping company and picked up my car and stored properly. And washed my car and parked at the airport parking on the day I arrived. Perfect service beyond my expectation!Thank you very much Mr. & Mrs. Shelton! You guys are awesome!

I have stored my Tesla Model 3 at Island Auto Storage several times while I am not on Maui. My experience has been excellent. Unlike many car storage services who will not even consider storing an all electric vehicle, Island Auto Storage were helpful and attentive, and charged the vehicle as necessary whenever I left it for long periods of time in their care.In addition, all the regular services like drop-off, pick-up, car washing, (even checking tire pressure on request) were exemplary, and Brian and his team were a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Island Auto Storage for all your car storage needs on Maui.

I'm a big fan of Shelton's Auto Masters. I've had two automobile accidents, and they did a really good job of taking care of my cars, both were BMW's (Z4 & M6). While the other shops on the island we're not able to take care of my cars because of long waiting lists, Shelton's was able to schedule me immediately, and communicated with me every step of the way.

This has to be the best auto storage option on Maui!We started looking at Island Auto Storage to store our van based on the many 5 star ratings, but long before we dropped off our vehicle this company proved incredibly valuable to us. They were very flexible! Our plans changed a total of 3x and the team at Island Auto Storage was nothing but pleasant and accommodating. When we had vehicle registration issues they provided free advice quickly, helping us avoid costly mistakes. We worked directly with Patty many times and she was so professional, helpful and timely. We really loved the online application and online drop-off scheduler. The directions we got for scheduling were complete and easy to follow. We scheduled our first exit from the island with no issues and it included a ride to the airport. Shawn was super friendly as he drove us in one of their vehicles. We plan to use the option next time to just leave the vehicle at the airport and have them come pick it up. All in all we highly recommend this business for its personalized service.

We choose this shop because of their ratings and much to our disappointment received less than professional service for our sons car. After having the car for six weeks and no communication on the status, the repair to the steering wasn't even touched. When driving it off the lot and onto the high way, we had to immediately turn around and take it back as the steering locked up! We are so fortunate he noticed it right away and wasn't in an accident or killed due to it being the steering! Not only was it not repaired, we were told by the owner (Brian) he hadn't test drove it even though he told our son he did while taking his deductible. Strike one. Then the car was held for an additional week and when I called (and then hung up on intentionally) was told by another service tech the part had just come in and was going to take yet another week. I was lied to again with them telling me that they called to tell my husband all I was told already. Strike two. Last and ultimately the nail in the coffin was holding the car yet another week (still no communication) and my son being notified an hour before they closed on a Friday making it another weekend with still no car. I would be rating differently had there been better communication and no lying at the status, but I'm sure anyone else needing a rental car on island that's costing as much as a house payment could relate to our huge disappointment. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone looking for honest and timely repairs.

Yes, I wholeheartedly recommend Sheltons and will definitely use them again if the need arrises (of course I hope it does not). If you are a Turo host and you need repairs, you will find that some repair shops will not work with Turo insurance. Turo insurance has a reputation of lowballing initial estimates more than others and the repair shop has to spend more time and effort convincing Turo insurance to pay the actual cost of repairs. The time came for me to need repairs, so I turned to google and Yelp to look at the reviews to find someone with excellent reviews who would also work with Turo insurance. After visiting Sheltons in person, I learned they had worked with Turo before and would still work with Turo. And this is essentially how it went for me: I had my Turo estimate in hand (which Turo does based on only photos) and Sheltons did their own estimate (based on a physical inspection) and submitted their estimate to Turo insurance for approval. About a week later Turo approved a higher amount but not the full Sheltons estimate, the discrepancy was mostly because of hourly labor rates and estimated repair times, so Sheltons had to submit more information to show that the hourly rates they charge are the same as the industry standard on Maui. Sheltons explained that Turo does this again and again. I also called Turo insurance to try and help get the full estimate paid. In the meantime I authorized Sheltons to do the repairs, knowing I might end up paying the difference between the Turo insurance amount and the actual repair bill. After the car was taken apart there were some needed additional parts and repairs which Sheltons submitted to Turo insurance for approval. Throughout this time I also continued to politely but consistently follow up with Turo insurance to try and help. In the end Turo ended up paying the repair bill in full (nothing out of my pocket). I'm not exactly sure on the details of why and how this ended up happening, because Turo insurance adjusters only work directly with the body shop, but somehow Sheltons made it happen. This review is a few months late, but I wanted to wait a few weeks to make sure the repairs were all good (and they were) and there were no unexpected bill surprises (all stayed good). Then life got busy and a few month went by... But I kept remembering how thankful I am for the Sheltons who did a great job fixing my car, did it timely, and they did not give up on working with Turo insurance and continued to give Turo what they asked for in order for me to not have to pay out of pocket. After all, we pay good money for insurance and insurance should pay when it's time for a claim. Anyway, I'm finally getting to this review and the Sheltons are 5-stars all the way! Shawn was the guy I worked with at Sheltons and he was absolutely awesome!!!! Thank You!!!!!!

We are very pleased with your service and the way you take care of our car when we are gone. When I dreamt about leaving my car in Maui, I could not had asked for more than the services you provide. This was definitely a dream come true. It has been now more than six years of excellent service and it is getting better. Mahalo
