Grateful to HIS Hawaii for bringing JR Rail Passes and Pocket Wifi rentals to Maui. Tyson and his team are so friendly and helpful! No longer need to go to Oahu to buy the passes or wait until you arrive to Japan to get the pocket wifi. We were able to get into vacation mode as soon as our plane landed. The office is dependable - will assist if you have any issues with the wifi equipment. We contacted them by email and they helped us resolve an equipment glitch within minutes! Excellent service!

Writing from Japan ~ STOP NOW and DO NOT go HERE! Vulnerably we went in for advice and support as we have never traveled to Japan. We went into the shop twice for a total of 1 hour and explained our travel itinerary across Japan. H.I.S. never opened up a JR pass calculator or told us we could buy individual tickets. Tyson sold us 2, 3 week JR rail passes for $1250. HE NEVER said that we could buy each individual ticket, we found this out after we got here. GET THIS ~ We could have paid leg by leg and only spent $214 each! We paid $625 each! $811 total was waisted on JR passes we purchased because H.I.S. did not inform us that we had another option. We made a HUGE and EXPENSIVE mistake in trusting this company. We will be doing everything to get the refund they are saying they will not give us. I am feeling angry, lied to and deceived. I trusted this company and their knowledge. Tyson knew exactly where we were traveling. What a mistake! DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY HELP. They also failed to tell us about bus passes and the Suica cards that would have been very helpful. I have NEVER waisted so much money and should have never trusted this company.

We visited HIS to buy our JR Pass for our first trip to Japan. We highly recommend visiting HIS Hawaii for travel planning to Japan. We were so pleased with the help and efficiency of the staff at the office. They are very knowledgeable and helped us to buy the correct JR Pass for our itinerary. They also were very willing to make suggestions what to see and where to visit. We will definitely visit them again for our future trips to Japan.

I was very happy to find out they opened an HIS branch on Maui!! Usually we have to plan extra time between flights on Oahu, to go and get our JR passes from one of the offices there. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and the whole process was faster than when we've used the Oahu office. Fantastic customer service, and so convenient!

I was super excited when I saw the flyer for the H.I.S. Maui Branch. We would always have make an extra stop on Oahu to get our rail passes.Our visit to the Maui Branch was so convenient and the staff were friendly. The staff took the time to explain the changes to the rail pass and gave us helpful advice about how to get around Japan. We will definitely be back! Mahalo!

Love having this as an option on Maui!Easy to get your JR Rail Pass here, including the regional rail passes. Process was extremely quick and easy- just make sure to bring your passport (or a picture of it). Plus staff can help with showing you maps to help you find the right pass for your trip!

Mahalo Tyson & the HIS Maui team for making our trip to Japan east. They listened to what was important to me, found the best location for our family to see the attractions we had planned and gave us all the details we needed for our JR passes. I wouldn’t have been able to book this trip without Tyson’s help. Can’t wait to do it again!!

I was a bit nervous about traveling to Japan alone and didn't know where to begin so I headed to HIS Maui on Alamaha St. I was greeted by Tyson right as I walked in the door and after we talked for a bit, he made me feel like everything would be okay. He explained to me about the different stations and the use of the JR Rail Pass. When I got to Osaka it was exactly as he explained it would be. He even suggested visiting Kurashiki, which was an amazing experience. I got the mobile hotspot for the trip and I can't say enough about it. It was truly a lifesaver as many of the places I went to, and even on the trains, did not have wifi. I recommend HIS Maui for anyone thinking about heading to Japan, especially those who are intimidated about traveling there for the first time. Thanks again Tyson and the staff at HIS Maui.

I rented a wireless phone device and bought JR Rail passes from Kahului HIS and it was perfect. They offered great service, went over instructions on how to use it. Couldn't have asked for a more convenient way to have done this. The wifi device worked seamlessly. I was able to exchange my rail vouchers for passes at the train station with no problem. I highly recommend using HIS services before going to Japan.
