As a senior, I had a unique situation and the manager and agent I had at the Maui branch near Queen Mall... well that really to batt to get my big penalty fees waived, due to my highly stressed personal situation. It did take many weeks to get it cleared through their main Oahu office, but the Maui branch never gave up, and they got it to go through. It took a long time and I had started wondering if they really are about ALOHA, but they came through in the end, happy to say.... and they are very nice people. I don't trust banks much these days. These people say they are not actually a bank, but rather a non-profit foundation? They helped the people in Lahaina after the fires too. This would all need further research. They are very cautious. Curious how solid they are in this economy.

Today it seems like a lot of places we do business at have lost the customer service touch. But not this place, I'm not sure about all the branches but this one has been an amazing experience. I have gone into the branch a few times and have always felt Aloha. The folks working the front are knowledgeable and solutions driven. Calling customer service once as well was a refreshing experience. I love this bank and if your looking for one don't look any further.

Always very helpful and very friendly. Their app is top tier out of all the Credit Unions in Maui, their card supports Tap to pay, Apple Pay. Best of yet they can print you a replacement card! In house! I’ve yet to see a bank on the islands do that. Some can’t even support Apple Pay and it shows Hawaii State FCU is on it with their tech and customer service!

As soon as you walk in the door someone will greet you by your first name. They are fast friendly and always on top of it.

I drive all the way from country and they close at 12:59 every Saturday. Way to go the extra mile. Mobile banking deposit is trash.

I have received the best service from Hawaii State FCU that I have ever received from any "Bank". If you start an account with them you have so many options available to you!!!! They are amazing! Give them a chance and they will go the extra mile for you!

No one answers the phone. I was on hold for over 15 minutes. Was said to be 3rd in line. I hung up and called back. I was still 3rd in line and again was kept on hold. When walked in, no one was on the phone and only a few members were in line.

The Hawaii State Federal Credit Union has more technology than "Banks" have and much better options such as free cashier's checks, free Visa debit card with a picture of your choosing. I have a family picture on my card. They are amazing! Give them a chance and they will go the extra mile for you!

So, I STILL LOVE this place! So happy they got to move to a new location. Still central and easy to get to. The parking situation is way better here and it's next to all the major shopping like Target, Walmart, new Kahului Safeway. Everyone here is super nice and helpful and it doesn't stop at this location, it's literally every encounter I've had with HIFCU branches statewide (been to a few on Oahu and one in Hilo). Everything is brand spanking new here and they have fancy hand recognition. It's crazy! This space is much larger than their last spot and it's so comfy here. Consider coming over!

Went to open a new account at new Salt Lake branch. Tori Yamashiro went over all the options available to me and what would work best. Decided on a joint checking / savings account to give me the "best bang for my buck." The new branch is beautiful and has all the new technologies incorporated in its design.

Local Hawaii state employees federal credit union. They have reciprocal rights with other credit unions around the US. And their charter allows membership if you join a specific library appreciation club ($10).
