I stop in here 3-4 times a week. When I need gas, or when I need breakfast or a soda for my commute to Lahaina in the morning's. Staff is always friendly, and the location is always spotlessly clean.
They have the best manapua!

I can't praise the kitchen at Uptown Chevrolet enough--from the food, to the service, to its own unique charm, the place is a diamond in the rough. It took me by surprise that a mini-mart would serve delectable food by they do.
Their offerings are decidedly local and include items such as breaded teriyaki beef (so good!) and staples like SPAM musubi and fried chicken. And then there's their specials such as baked opapaka and several soups and stews with names I can never remember. May I recommend the Philly Fish, a local take on a Philladelphia Cheesesteak. And, if you have a breakfast hankering, they've got you covered there, too.
But let's not neglect the staff. First, a shout-out to Tiffany, who is a total sweetheart. As for the rest, they're kind and work as fast as they can and provide friendly service.

Uptown (now a Texaco) offers some great local dishes to go. The size of the portions are enormous and the food is ono!

We affectionately nicknamed Mr. Makimoto to honor his style and swag...and what was Uptown Service is now this popular locals plate lunch/bentos place famous for their breaded teriyaki (of Omuro's fame), bentos, manapua and just plain ono grinds at one gas station no less! Enjoyed our grinds immensely and wanted to thank Alvin personally only to learn braddah comes in later and stays late, paying attention to business and his customers. Congrats, braddah Fonz. See you when I come back home...MauiBoy

We were in Maui for 2 weeks looking for the real deal. This place exceeded our expectations. Unfortunately we went there for takeout on the way to the airport.
This was one of our best meals for Hawaiian food. We had Adobo fried rice, beef stew with Rice and Lau Lau with rice. I think the lunch menu changes every day. Our taxi driver days they call out the special over their radio daily.
The food was tasty. Not too salty. I would say food was less salty and better than Da Kitchen. YMMV.
The ladies at the sales counter were very friendly as we're the food counter in the back. True aloha spirit.
All this from a gas station???
