We were having some plumbing work done at our house which is how I got to know the Ferguson name. The plumber came here in search of parts for our toilet - which I like to call our "special case" as its low profile-design requires parts not found in mainstream stores and usually has to be special-ordered. I honestly would like to get rid of it entirely and get a normal john to save future headaches! To my surprise, he wasn't able to find this sleeve that bolts the toilet seat to the toilet. See what a headache this commode is? Another issue came up as we needed a replacement tub spout. I figured if plumbers shop here, this must be the best place to get it. Boy was I wrong.EXPERIENCE:The biz is located in a big warehouse in the Kahului Industrial park with adequate parking. It was far from what I expected. The first door I tried to open was locked and I guess was the office. The next door in line was a big open garage-like door which I thought was for staff only but it's the actual shopping area and their stock room. There are no displays or sales associates roaming the floors, just inventory. After finally locating the faucet section, it got even worse as not only was the selection limited, but everything was boxed with very little detail explaining what was inside. If you're looking for screws, nuts, bolts and everything in between, you'll be in mancave heaven.SERVICE:Like Napa stores, everyone is working behind the counter so you'd have to wait in line along with people purchasing items if you have a simple question. What a waste of time.OVERALL:I'm more of a Home Depot/Lowe's shopper where things are clearly on display with associates abound if you need any assistance. And as far as that tub faucet, I found just what I was looking for at Home Depot! Sorry, Fergie.

So the shower valve broke at my 89 year old tutu's house to where you could not shut the water off. There was no shutoff valve in the water line going to the shower, so we had to turn off the water to the whole house to avoid wasting gallons.Went to Ferguson and as I had expected the valve was 30+ years old, not stocked on Maui and would have to be special ordered. Figured as much. So I asked what I could do to just cap off the supply lines to the shower in the meantime while waiting for the part to come in, so we could at least turn the water back on to the rest of the house. The employee at Ferguson sold me "shark bite" cap fittings and a pipe cutter, and explained in detail how to install them. Back at the house, about 10 minutes of work and I had the lines capped off and was able to turn our water back on! ?I really appreciated the patient service with aloha during a stressful situation. They treated me as a valued customer even though they mostly deal with big commercial sales and I was just a clueless DIY'er buying $25 worth of items. What a great experience. Mahalos guys, I will recommend you to anyone I know of needing plumbing supplies! ???

6/30/23 Yes, if you are use to Ferguson on the mainland, you and I are very spoiled. May I suggest to you....Make an appointment or two. There is only one designer to help you design and make decisions on Maui. She is fantastic by the way, very kind and personable. If you look at there website ahead of time before your appointment that will really help with the process. Know the answers to her questions about install times, style, size of area, color. If you know exactly what you want, use the website and pick it up or have it shipped.Real person, living on Maui at the moment and not AI or bot.?

Don’t waste your time at this non-existent “showroom”. Just find whatever you’re looking for on the mainland and ship it over like I have to do for most everything now. This is another case of a Maui pretend business with lazy and incompetent staff (note, NOT the “supply side” those guys are very helpful, just the “showroom” side). First of all, it’s the only Ferguson showroom I’ve ever seen that requires an appointment. I’d dropped by multiple times and even gave the manager the EXACT make and model of what I was looking for and never heard back from them. I’ve bought dozens of items from Ferguson showrooms and always had great experiences. Unfortunately you can’t even try to give this one money, they drop the ball at every turn. I eventually bought the rather expensive kitchen appliance on a recent trip to California from a small local owned dealer and guess what….they were more than happy to take my money and ship me the product. Strike this Maui location off your shopping list.

I don't visit Ferguson very often, because most of my plumbing issues are with my sprinkler system and they don't carry irrigation parts. They were very helpful, several years ago, when I had a dripping shower. There are 2 plastic parts that go into the valve. Neither of them were cheap and they didn't know which one causes the leak. They told me you're just supposed to change both at the same time. So, I bought both parts and tried replacing only one of them. The valve still leaked. Okay, change it around so it had the other new part instead. The valve still leaked. It turned out that both new parts were needed to solve the problem. Sorry I doubted you. Now, I have a new issue with the sprinklers. My system has an old, brass anti-siphon valve with a manual shutoff valve that's leaking. There's a little cross handle on the valve stem with a packing nut that leaks unless it is so tight that the valve stem won't turn. I went to Ferguson counter sales to see if they had a solution. Even though it's a sprinkler part, they should be able to solve the compression valve problem, right? Replacing the old rubber packing washer with Teflon string was their recommendation because nobody would carry the exact size replacement washer. It turned out to be an easy fix that only cost a few bucks.

I received a call from Roma with Ferguson upper management. He was very patient and listened to the issues we had with both the faucet and show room customer service. He ultimately gave us a credit and resolved the matter promptly which we greatly appreciate. If our showroom rep had called us back as promised (or when she returned from vacation) with an update, this could've been resolved sooner. Roma could teach a Masterclass on customer service.
