Purdy gave our family our tour and was very peculiar and anxious. He was not welcoming and seemed upset / controlling. Weird guy, weird experience. Wouldn't recommend

I was hesitant about coming here after reading reviews, but it was highly recommended to me by volunteers at the Land Trust, and I'm glad I went! The farm is small but mighty. The owner explained the history of the farm, but also the life cycle of the macademia nut tree and the process for harvesting the nuts from start to finish. There is a hands-on portion where you get to crack some raw nuts. There is also a testing bar where you try the roasted salted nuts (so yummy, def better than the canned versions), as well as honey and oils using resh coconut as the "chip" or "cracker". It was cool because I really didn't know anything about the actual macademia trees or how they grew before coming here, despite gmhaving been to Hawaii 20+ times. There is a small gift shop that sells the nuts, including in the shell, which is a fun gift to bring back for people as we never see them in the shell anywhere, even on the other islands. There was also a small selection of jewellery made from macademia wood, body care products, honey, oils and clothing. They also sell cold drinks on site. The girls working the gift shop are very nice and friendly. They also take debit and credit. Prices are very reasonable. Load up here for nuts.

Great little activity and you can just swing by for 20 minutes or so any time they're open. It was really informative. You crack a few nuts with a hammer, see the 100-year-old tree and different stages of nut development, and check out their shop. The prices are reasonable for local, organic, hand picked and prepared foods. The tour is free and the nuts and honey your sample are delicious, so I felt like I could spend a little more on food.

An absolute must ! They give all you can eat samples, you get to crack your own freshly fallen nuts, and the coconut slices dipped in their Macadamia Honey is FANTASTIC. The tour guide is a real character too, out of central casting he is, and a great example of 'Molokai Service' (i.e., a little gruff but actually quite friendly and welcoming once you get to know him). So long as you let him get through his spiel, without interrupting, and you ask questions when he's done (ie. when he asks you 'anyone have any questions?') then you'll have a great time and get to try the freshest raw macadamias and even sample some of their freshly roasted, lightly salted nuts as well.

One of my favorite things to do in all Hawaii. Small locally-owned and -operated family farm, using natural practices to deliver high quality organic nuts. Hands-on tour that allows you to crack your own nuts! Go spend a few minutes and see how they do!

We had a great time learning about macadamia nuts on our tour ( which is free). You get to crack open a few nuts as well which is cool. There is no pressure to buy, but we could not leave without purchasing a few bags of fabulous Mac nuts and some honey. We will definitely return next time we are on Molokai!!

Seriously, where else are you going to find fresh macadamia nuts that you can actually taste and savor at a local farm? I know most people would only think of the macadamia nuts that are sold at various retailers, but the nuts are processed and not really that healthy. So thankful I had the chance to stop in Purdy's farm and get a hands-on experience from the owner himself, and learned how the macadamia nuts are grown and harvested! You can crack open raw nuts and sample them as they are or dip them in honey. Highly recommend using plenty of bug repellent and if you plan on buying anything from their shop, it's cash only.

This place is a little bit hard to find. Watch for the signs that are put out by the road and park in a small lot that is along the road. We drove by it twice just prior to them opening and we had to turn around and come back a third time and he actually had the signs out front so we were able to see where we were actually supposed to go. Once we walk down the short cement driveway we could see the Macadamia trees and the owner greeted us and let us know that he was in the middle of a tour but he would get to us right away. He wound up just integrating us into the tour and doing it in a reverse order and when a few other people arrived he just let them join in as well and it all worked out actually. It so far has been one of the highlights of our trip to Molokai. This is a very Hands-On tour and it is free. He showed us how to actually crack the macadamia nuts and let us eat a raw natural macadamia nut after cracking it open and using a special nut holder. He then let us try some of the Macadamia Blossom honey which is a very unique kind of honey made on the big island. We wound up buying some of that as it was so good. This place specializes in fresh natural raw and roasted with sea salt macadamia nuts. They don't use preservatives or put them in a can or use anything else. The tour was filled with facts on the growth and harvesting of the macadamia nuts and I actually learned a lot that I did not already know. We also wound up buying some of the roasted with sea salt macadamia nuts and they are very good. The kids enjoyed it as well. There are a couple cats roaming around it are friendly. I would definitely recommend stopping in and getting a tour sampling the honey the coconut and the nuts and learning how to crack them open and actually seeing the process that they go through. Listen to the directions and be patient and you will learn a lot on this tour and get to eat some quality local nuts in honey.

We really enjoyed our short visit here! Easy parking outside. Friendly guide explained the process, educated about the trees & farm, let us taste honey & sauce. We happily cracked open raw nuts ( delicious!) w a hammer & bought some to go. Only reasons it's not 5 Stars- cash only ( I would've bought 3x more nuts if they too cc) and we got horribly attacked by mosquitoes. No joke. Bring cash & put on big repellent!

Amazing. We met Mr Purdy and what an experience! A working nut farmer that is glad to share his knowledge and experiences with those truly interested. I have been to the large process plant tours and this one was a real farmer sharing. He answered all our questions and has a wonderful product to share, much different than my other experiences

One of the best stops we made in short trip to Molokai. Absolute must. These farmers are the real deal. They are all about no pesticides, growing naturally. The tour was excellent, and free. The beaches, hikes, coffee all were marvelous but this was exceptional.

So let's be honest...there's not a lot to do on Moloka'i (which is one reason to go there). This was kind of fun though. Did you know that macadamia nuts are harvested year-round? This, and many other exciting facts are yours to learn during your visit to this farm. We had fun and there are some wonderful macadamia nut products to buy when you're done.
