Nice shop with helpful workers. If you need something, just ask. Parking is metered and right outside. They carry bamboo leaves for 咸肉棕 and lotus leaves for 糯米雞. Lots of snacks, dried goods, freezer items, etc. If you haven’t been yet, it is worth checking it out. ^_^

I usually go there for Chinese herbal ingredients to cook herbal medicine drink for better health. Seems these products are nice and fresh in this grocery store. Of course I will also pick up some Chinese snacks that can't be found in American grocery stores?

Great selection and workers are very friendly and helpful. I came here with my mom and daughter a few weeks ago. I was excited to check out the area, as I was born in Hawaii, but moved when I was little. So being able to see places my dad grew up around, as well as family, i was excited. (Which includes the stores, where i live is not as much of an Asian community, so we don't have as much selection)As we were checking out, they were beginning to close the store. I paid for my things and not knowing that I left my phone on the counter. I'd needed a restroom, and then went to check out the bakeries down the street. About 15 minutes after closing, I realized I had left my phone on the counter! We tried calling the business, we tried getting a hold of them through the security guards, but there was no answer... This was a Sunday afternoon, so I don't really blame them for wanting to get out of there, and get home! So I wrote a note on the door letting them know what Happened, and that I would be there in the morning to hopefully retrieve my phone. The next morning they called me when they opened letting me know that the phone was there, and we can pick it up. When I picked it up the man behind the counter said they saw my phone but I was nowhere in sight, so they ended up just closing and figuring out come back to my phone the next day. But I think the kindest gesture, was that he put my phone on the charger so that I'd have power when I got my phone back! I know that that's a small gesture, but I thought it was so thoughtful to do that! I decided this situation deserves a yelp, because of how thoughtful they were to do that, and customer service is definitely part of grocery experience! We will be back next year, and I will keep my phone in my pocket this time LOL.

I like Kelly Korner's because it has parking lot outside but it is relatively small and doesn't always have all I need. So where do I go if I need those exotic herbal and soup supplies? Yuan Feng it is. They have a good selections of products such as noodles, snacks, sauces, herbal products etc and some are not easily found at other stores. I've been coming here regularly since I moved to Hawaii. I like that it's in the quiet part of Chinatown with parking spots right in the front. They have air conditioning so everything kept in a cool and dry environment. Owners are very nice and know their products well. It used to be 2 aunties but I guess they have retired? Now it's 2 young folks. Surprisingly they also have good knowledge of all the herbal products and able to give me suggestions if I need ingredients for soup and herbal tea. They accept credit cards but cash is usually preferred (hey it's Chinatown!). Their products are not necessarily cheaper but given its location, cleanliness I'll still keep going back.

If you've ever been to Kwong Tong Chong in Chinatown, this is the same location along Maunakea St, down past the banks. The owners retired, which sadly, is becoming commonplace during this pandemic.Meet Yuan Feng Groceries! The set up is exactly the same, but more organized and spacious, less cluttered, and more clean and bright. And perhaps less dusty and musty too? You'll find an array of Chinese and Asian goods from sauces to snacks to herbs and spices to dried/cured meats to instant coffees and drinks to Chinese medicine, and etc. Price-wise, it's about the same as elsewhere with some items more expensive. The owners are nice and friendly. It's great to see the next generations take over these kind of stores without changing it drastically. Not many want to do this kind of business because it's a lot of work.Best of luck to Yuan Feng Groceries!

I need certain Chinese ingredients in order to make joong. I have shopped at several different Chinese grocery stores and Yuan Feng Groceries is really nice. It's clean and orderly. The young owners are very pleasant and helpful and prices are good. Parking was easy in the afternoon and I Mike that it's in a quieter part of Chinatown.
