Let me tell you guys, these people are THE BEST. They have seen me UGLY cry. They have seen me laugh hysterically. They have seen every single emotion come out of me, and they have remained professional through and through. They helped me through a hard loss, and have given my babies the absolute BEST care in emergencies. Oahu pets are lucky to have such a knowledgeable and kind place to go in case of emergencies. Thank you VERC for helping me and my babies through some very hard times. While I hope to not need their services for a long, long time; I’m extremely grateful to have a place I can rely on for the best pet care ❤️

If there was a choice for zero i would pick zero stars . They butchered my poor three year old mixed breed mid sized dog saying he has a cancerous tumor , only to do a biopsy and find it be benign . After $7,000 of billings from the butcher shop Verc Re- Located in an area of town filled with crime , I will find a better vet clinic to go to !! This place is filled with money hungry scammers !! If you have money to throw away this is the right vet clinic to go to!!

I had the dreaded thing happen, an emergency on New Year's Eve. I had been on a trip 3 days prior, and came home with this particular cat, Ellie, acting normally. We had our regular cat sitter for home visits. Ellie was eating and drinking normally, no pain or lump. Husband picked her up for a hug and she screamed, but this is not out of the ordinary, she doesn't like being picked up. However, as the fireworks were going off, we noticed she kept licking one spot. And then the odor hit. I used to work as a vet tech, and excuse the language but I was like "fml....shit we are going to the ER". She had a burst abscess from a cat bite. We can't figure out which of the two bit her ass, but she was indoors the time we were gone. The woman on the phone was amazing and calm. Husband and I figured that he would bring the cat, while I stayed and watched the other cats (~9pm-10pm). I figured this would be a drop off, since it's new years eve and crazier things would be coming in. It's always different when it's your own baby. But I knew we had to stay calm and that she was in good hands. It takes a lot to not call and ask how she's doing, but again, I worked as a tech before so I'm sure they made her comfy and would get to her when they could. At about 5am we were able to pick her up. Stacie was awesome! She brought us the discharge instructions and went over the medications. Told us when to follow up with our primary care DVM. Overall, I am very impressed with how clean the hospital is! There's even a section for only cats in the waiting room. I did not meet the doctor, but discharge orders were very clear. Stacie, the rvt, was awesome! We had a great experience from a place I always dreaded going to.

The service here was wonderful. We came in after 6pm for an emergency and the staff responded promptly. My only concern is that when we called prior to arriving, the call did not go through. Nevertheless, I am so grateful to the front desk and especially the veterinarians here at VERC for all their help.

I had a pet emergency and my vet recommended getting him in right away...my challenge was I lived on Molokai and needed to catch a flight first. I called ahead to ensure I could be seen right away. Leaving Molokai is difficult at times due to the limited flights. I arrived around midnight to the hospital and everyone was immediately attentive in helping me get the care I needed for my furry friend. Since I was traveling I had luggage along with a pet carrier and they helped me by putting me in a private room to clean up after my pet since we had a long journey (waiting at the airport since my Mokulele flight was delayed by almost two hours - but that's for another review). Everyone at the hospital was very attentive and helpful. They allowed me to visit my pet friend anytime while he stayed in their care. They were super accommodating and attentive to my calls. He stayed there about four days and recovered well. Thank you to everyone for your excellent care and accommodating service. They even helped with billing and my pet insurance came in handy in the end! Mahalo!!

Very disappointed with the negligence of their own staff and miscommunication that I experienced. I was referred to them to do an ultrasound for what seemed to be a suspected abdominal mass on my dog. my primary vet had scheduled an oncology appointment at the same time in case I needed it pending the ultrasound results. Ultrasound was done quickly and I was told that the radiologist would not speak to me and that results/report would be sent to my primary vet. 5 days went by and my vet couldn’t access the report through their portal so I had to call so they could send it to my vet and myself personally. After reading the report my vet had said this looks to be more internal medicine than oncology but if they are separate specialties, to schedule separate consults. I had scheduled an internal medicine consult the day after the (already) scheduled oncology consult because I didn’t know which one I needed (i didn’t care about paying for them) if i didn’t need the internal medicine appointment, i could just cancel it. I was called the week before saying that the oncology technician looked at my report and she says it doesn’t look to be internal medicine and they had advised me to “cancel my internal medicine appointment because this is an oncology case” I asked what if it’s not? and they assured me that I didn’t need both appointments and that they could talk amongst each other. Come to my oncology appointment, the oncologist took one look at the report and said this is internal medicine? this isn’t my scope of work you need to see internal medicine personally. Of course my previously scheduled appointment was given away (because i’m pretty sure that’s why they canceled, to give it away) and now i don’t know how long i’d wait. No managers were available of course so they waived my consult fee and sent me on my way “that’s all they could do” the same scheduling coordinator that advised me to cancel my appointment called to reschedule the internal medicine appointment that I, in fact, DID NEED and the soonest they could get me in was another week away. Speaking to manager after manager they were nice but all they could tell me was “that’s all we can do” “we’re sorry we understand how frustrating it is” when in reality it turns out that the technician who advised me to cancel my appointment ONLY read my referral which was for a suspected “abdominal mass” but she didn’t look at the IN HOUSE ultrasound report that she had full access to and made that decision by herself. had she looked at the ultrasound report and read it, as i did, she would have immediately knew not to cancel it. every manager including the director agreed with me and all they could do is say “we’re sorry” and “we’ll do better next time”i received a phone consult from the internal medicine doctor she came up with the results to do a laparoscopic surgery. I informed her that I would be getting a second opinion elsewhere before going through with that and i’m glad I did because we didn’t need to go through with it. The stress and runaround could have been easily avoided had it not been for their poor work ethics. A technician made a call that was not theirs to make and they wasted weeks worth of time which my dog and I paid the price for.

My 11lb Chi mix has a huge mast cell tumor (cancer). I was referred to VERC (Nimitz) By my Vet. They may be great in various areas but in my case, it was a horrible experience! Palladia was subscribed (chemo) to shrink the tumor to surgically remove it. Instead, it nearly killed her in less than 5 weeks!! She lost 1/3 of her body weight, blood in her vomit, and poop. She could barely walk (or move). VERC insists on tests associated with treatment, $1500 "every 2 weeks" average, or they *threaten to stop giving prescriptions. I went holistic and found this: Celloquent Gold $50 + CBD for pets $30. In less than a week her tumor is visually shrinking which compelled me to share. The intent is to inform and help other pet owners going through similar situations. Please be aware and do your research before getting robbed. They know we will pay out love & desperation. No one needs the added financial stress while suffering alongside your fur Angel who's fighting for their lives. Be well, take care, good luck!!

4 hour emergency visit…observed for 4 hours, only to be told nothing’s wrong with our dog, despite coming in with a 104 degree fever…no blood test, no nothing tests to see what was causing her fever, light panting, (said probably because of hospital anxiety??)$200 visit. The next day our vet found out she has disk herniation in her back, a muscle injury/sprain, ear infection…why didn’t VER tell us that after 4 hours and a sleepless night because of discomfort??The staff is friendly and the Nimitz location is top notch, but not in evaluation, tests or care.

After a horrible experience with another vet we brought our Doberman to Verc after 2 recommendations. This place was easy to find (a bit of a drive from the west side) but so worth it. Dr Luce was amazing and explained everything on her findings and gave us solutions and options. This doctor truly cares and understands taking care of pets and their owners. We were given the run around with the other vet, and so glad we found verc. Even reading the other reviews that they are pricier, i think to get a honest answer with no bs is worth every penny. This facility is clean, the front desk are super friendly and seems very state of the art place. Hopefully you don't need to bring your pets to an emergency but this is the place to if need be.

We are so fortunate to have such a professional veterinary hospital here on Oahu with emergency room doctors available 24/7. Special shout-outs to Doctors Kwon, Luce (I think), and Coleman, plus the assistants and desk staff, who cared for our little dog Lucca after a sudden, usually fatal autoimmune condition. After two separate visits here I find the place to be well run, thoughtful, competent, and caring. They have veterinary specialists, tests, procedures, equipment, and long term rehabilitation that you just can't get from your neighborhood vet. The facilities are clean, new, impressive, and comfortable, more so than most people hospitals. How could anyone afford to build this? Others point out in reviews that they are very money oriented, which is true. They give you a detailed cost estimate and collect the full deposit upfront. If you can't afford it or further treatment is unwarranted, they may suggest alternatives including euthanasia and letting nature take its course. Down the hall past the last consultation room is a bereavement room with sweet animal pictures, a table lamp, and a box of Kleenex. Having pets is hard. Being a vet who cares, I understand, is harder. Turns out it's part of one of the emerging worldwide chains of veterinary hospitals that have been traded between public companies and private equity firms like star baseball players. So it all makes sense - the modern facilities, the professionalism, the management, the money. You get excellent care here, if you can afford it.

This place is amazing and the vet team who took care of my pup Indiana today were saints. We woke up at 4am to get ready for a flight and noticed swelling in my pups face. Called and immediately came in and got her taken care of. They were so fast and helpful, I was willing to pay almost anything to make sure she was okay and was obviously frantic. They got her seen, got some shots for her allergies and sent me out with a very reasonable bill for emergency services. So so thankful for this team and how quickly they were able to get Indiana taken care of. Absolutely I recommend them!!

i recently brought my dog, Cooper, in after learning he needed surgery. my dog is my world, and something like this is always going to be overwhelming. i was so amazed by the incredible doctors and staff who did their best to not only make me comfortable: great communication and allowing me to visit with him throughout the time he was hospitalized, but they also went above and beyond for my dog ensuring he felt as comfortable as possible during this difficult time. one of the doctors noticed how cooper really seemed to like particularly fluffy blankets, and she made a point of putting one in his enclosure. Cooper has now recovered and i couldn't be more grateful to everyone at VERC!

Yes it's the best emergency vet for your fur baby if ever you would need them. They are open 24/7. The place is nice and clean and very professional workers there. They are quick and helped me immediately today when my dog had gotten a seizure this morning. My dog was well taken cared of. Thank you Dr Ortiz.

Six weeks ago my dog Barkley was attacked by a Rottweiler. When I saw the extent of his injuries, I thought I would lose him. I took him to VERC around 10pm that night. They were open, took him in, and got to work. It was a long painful journey, but the vets and staff at VERC brought him back to me. They have been so kind to us. Dr Chen explained all I needed to know as Barkley slowly recovered. I feel like she took a personal interest in healing my little boy. We have been coming in 2 times a week and now when I tell him "we are going to the vet", he wags his tail and hops in the car- he never did this before! When we walk in, he is greeted by the staff as an old friend. Barkley and I are so grateful to them.
