This place is an absolute mess! It's completely unprofessional and dirty. And to top it off, the attitude here is beyond arrogant. Can you believe the audacity of someone saying, "You need me, I don't need you"? And then they had the nerve to insult me by saying, "Don't act stupid because you know there's water in your headlight." These were their exact words, no exaggeration. I'm not sure if they were just having a bad day, but I will never set foot in this place again. It's laughable that I didn't even know there was water condensation in my headlight, but now I do. Whatever, I guess.

I am not sure what other people are talking about and writing bad reviews. I went to get my safety check and it was a fast and smooth process. It was interesting to see all of his memorabilia on the wall. Also, he has a lot of chickens walking around the shop...........which is a regular thing to see in Kalihi :) Highly recommended!

Needed a safety check for my classic VW bug & uncle got it done thanks again . I highly recommend this shop only thing go early because there's always a long line of customers.

Something changed here. Used to be solid, but now I'd give him a zero! He's not all there and he is rude. Paid him and he didn't even finish my safety check. Doesn't open consistently and he acts and looks sketchy. Save yourself tons of money and time and go anywhere else!

Shawn and his team were very knowledgable and trustworthy. They go the extra mile to make sure a job is done well and done right. I brought my 4Runner here for A/C repair. Because it is a bit of an older truck, they gave me several options for the repair, cost estimates, and in the end, they took care of the problem. If you're looking for a dependable place to take your automobile to be repaired right and well, this is the place to go. Thank you, Shawn and your team, for all your work.

I was recommended by another mechanic to contact SS Auto to get my cylinder head replaced in my car. They agreed to do the work super quickly and charged me a fair price for the extensive work that had to be done. They were really patient in explaining things to me as someone who isn't very familiar with cars, and had the work done within 1.5 weeks so I could get my car back ASAP. They also checked out some of the other issues my car was having. I am really happy with how my car is working now and definitely would recommend them to anyone in the future!

Took my brand new 2023 hybrid car here to put on a Cat Shield by MillerCat and Shawn and crew did an amazing job. Despite being busy with 3-4 cars he told me he could fit me in to his busy schedule. Was quick, easy, and cost effective. After finishing the job he was also super nice to let me look at his work from the bottom up so I can see what they did. Highly, highly recommend SS Auto! I was recommended by a friend to ss auto repair for an inspection to a potential vehicle purchase. Not only they went out of their way to accommodate me in adjusting to my schedule but they also was able to find the solution to our problem which made me make the purchase with confidence that it was the right choice. They're professional, efficient in their time of service, honest and straightforward with us. Sean was the best!! We are visiting from LA and we needed a tire patch for our rental. He was very friendly and super helpful. I was honestly so stressed and he eased our stress. He got it done in less than 10 mins. Thanks again so much Sean!!

A+++++++ EXCEPTIONAL WORK AND SERVICE!!! Super honest, straight forward, very respectful, fair pricing - what more can you ask for? I cannot praise Sean and Manu enough!! A HUGE THANK YOU for saving me because I rely heavily on my car for work. Found myself in a jam this past week when my clutch went out. (Okay I saw the signs, but didn't know what was wrong with my car until it was almost too late). Got a referral from a friend for SS Auto. Read the Yelp reviews and decided to give them a try. Called them up and they were able to squeeze me in. They fixed my clutch and also helped me repair some engine mounts that were broken and cracked. I REALLY appreciated that they caught this issue before it became a real problem. They were kind enough to let me pick up my car Saturday morning to accommodate my schedule. As a female going into an auto repair shop, I am always a bit skeptical because I'm not too well versed in cars (besides one year of auto in high school but that wasn't enough). What I can say is that Sean and Manu put me at ease. These two are genuine guys and you will be able to pick up that energy right away. They took the time to explain in detail what was going on with my engine mounts. They even lifted the car to show me the broken and cracked mounts. (I love proof since I think in terms of scientific evidence based!!) Everything made sense and I felt really comfortable working with them every step of the way. I ran things by my boyfriend and everything they explained added up. So I moved forward with the additional work. For all the ladies (and gents/them/they etc) out there who find themselves in a similar predicament as me (dire emergency situation where your car needs troubleshooting or fixing right away and you're unsure whom you can trust in town), I would highly recommend 3000% without a doubt taking your car to see Sean and Manu. The other reviews that share these same sentiments were spot on (inter-rater reliability)!! Hands down, don't hesitate to take your car there. Sean and Manu - you have a loyal customer in me. And since Hawaii is only 1 degree of separation, I'll be referring friends and family your way too. I THANK YOU IMMENSELY for saving me this past week (and in the future) for your hard work. Much mahalos to you both for the integrity in the work you do.
