Shannon is the absolute best! It was my first time getting a haircut from an actual stylist and let me tell you it changed my life. I broke up with my barber for her. I don't just go for the high quality cut, I genuinely enjoy my appointments because Shannon is a very fun person to talk to and her personality definitely adds to the salon experience. Linda is also a great hair washer.

Easy to book and very nice staff, but I got the kind of haircut that made me go home and cry. I asked for a couple inches off, to shoulder-length, and ended up with something *not even to the length of my chin.* I also said I needed it to be long enough for a ponytail because I work out a lot, and it's now too short to even pull back my bangs. We are both native English speakers, so I'm not sure where the complete and utter disconnect happened. She didn't ask about going buck wild and instead of asking if she could go shorter, she just ignored my request entirely. On top of it, it looks terrible and she clearly doesn't know how to cut short styles OR fine hair like mine because it's sticking out on the sides and in the back. I called and left a message to inquire about extensions (because I'm going to an event in a couple months and was expecting to have longer hair to work with) and they haven't called me back. Again, she was a nice person, but I am so disappointed in this hack job, it will literally take years to recover from it. I guess if you decide to go, bring more pictures than I did and repeat yourself at least 5 times before they bring out the scissors. Sighhhh....

Came in for a long overdue "root touch-up" with bleaching and color. Vanessa did an excellent job with my purple peekas, im very happy with the results. She also made sure i was comfortable throughout my visit, regularly checking if i needed anything to drink or if the bleach was uncomfortable on my scalp. The several ongoing conversations in the salon revealed that there were several regulars who return as they are happy with the services provided by stylists they trust. I did not know anyone here as it was my first time and was not recommended by anyone, but i would definitely highly recommend Vanessa and this salon

Loved visiting here!! I have a wedding to go to this weekend so I just went to the top result on yelp and booked a haircut. Was helped by Kelly and I love my haircut, she did exactly as I asked and she gave me so many recommendations in the area! I'm not sure when I'll be back for a haircut but I know to go to Salon by Yoo!! Don't hesitate to come here!

Aloha recently I've been conflicted weather if I should write a review based on my past visit at this salon. First of I want to thank the stylists who had been working on my hair for almost about a year now as I find myself very thankful and really enjoy your service. The salon interior truly live up to it visual with how skilled and kind the staff are. Unfortunately my previous visit did not have a very good outcome. I'm not sure if it is because the staff are getting familiar or too comfortable with me. But I find it very troublesome that my stylist was slacking as she progress with my hair cut. I always come with a reference and I understand that not every salon can execute as accurate as the picture provided, but I know it can help to guide my stylish. However not only my hair cut resulted in a complete different style from what I desired. The hair was extremely way too short, uneven cuts and layering, I never asked for a side fade but she gave me one anyways, overal disappointing. I left the salon holding back my tears. The reason why I came back to this salon was because out of 7 different salon I've been to. Salon by Yoo very carefully consult and constantly check up on their customers to see if they are going towards the right direction of what the customer wants. Unfortunately my stylist stoped doing so and just move on, you might say that I have atleast an hour to speak my mind but what can I do when 1/3 of my hair had already been shaved of...? I still am in love with this salon as I also have my recommendation to my friends and coworkers. I hope that you guys can take this into consideration and proceed it as a way of growth for your salon. Again I've observed how most of the staff function and truly everyone is astonishing in their own forte. Mahalo, thank you for your time!

10/10 recommend this place!! When I first got there, they had comfy seating and offered me water/coffee/tea :) My stylist was Kelly and she was AMAZING!! I showed her what color I wanted and told her the cut and she did exactly what I was hoping for. She, along with all the other staff, were super friendly The space was very clean and smelled so good! I would definitely recommend anyone looking to treat themselves to go here :) I got a full color and cut for $236 + tip. I feel so pretty and I'm so thankful for Kelly for making my hair dreams come true

I came to get my bangs trimmed because they were grown out, my hair was getting in my eyes. The bangs were cut far above my eyebrows, at a slant, and uneven. I now have to pin my hair up until it grows out. If you’re looking for bangs upkeep, find somewhere else.

First time at this salon and Mosses was the one who cut my hair. Loved it. Even days after my hair cut I got compliments from my coworkers. Will definitely go back and see him again.

I went to Shannon, and she did an amazing job! She asked me questions along the way to make sure she was getting exactly what I wanted, and I love my haircut! The assistants and staff were also very welcoming and courteous as well. Prices are reasonable too. Overall great experience!

I had a mixed experience here.
Shannon, who cut my hair, was exceptional—very professional, skilled, and a genuinely nice person. I’d definitely book my next haircut with her.
However, my only concern was with the shampooing process. The shampoo girl pulled my hair so hard that I thought it might be torn from my scalp. I’m not sure if she’s in training or if it was her first shift, but I recommend either thorough training on handling hair or considering another employee for the job.
4 stars only because of shampoo girl.

This was my first time getting a perm. It was $170 for a wash, perm, cut and styling. I don't go to salons often so I'm not sure if the pricing is reasonable. However, Alyssa paid close attention to detail when cutting and styling and produced each curl with precision. I appreciate that she was able to get the look I was going for using the reference pics I showed her. I'd recommend going there if you're wanting to relax and spoil yourself. Thank Yoo, Alyssa

Since moving to Hawaii a few years ago I've gone to several other stylists that claim to be "blonde specialists," but my hair would always end up either too yellow in tone or not bright enough. After seeing Moses yesterday for full highlights/babylights, my hair is back to being the bright blonde that it once was. He took the time to discuss desired results and look at photos, while kindly giving his professional input. Everything, from his product and care recommendations, to his foiling and styling technique made it apparent that he really is an expert at what he does. Moses is by far the best "blonde specialist" on the island. So happy I found him!
