Instituted a policy that all those checking out 15 items or more must check out at a cashier, and then provide no form of help to the customer who now needs to unload all 15+ items, bag all 15+ items themselves, figure out how much bags they need before they pay, and then you must bag all your items somewhere else because the next person behind you is also checking out 15+ items.
Thanks Safeway!

So…what’s the deal with the deli counter here? This applies to the sandwich station as well. This happens regardless of what time I come in and whether it is busy or not. Walked up this morning. There were five employees behind the counter, but as soon as I approached, they all scattered like roaches. Why is everyone so resentful to help a customer at this counter? I do not understand. So everyone leaves, the one girl who is still close by is just avoiding eye contact and doing other things. I stand there, trying to appear friendly and patient, and after about 3.5 minutes, this same girl rolls her eyes, washes her hands and, with a sigh reminiscent of a courthouse employee, exhaustedly asks what I want. It appears that the strategy is to ignore the customers and hope that they will change their mind and decide to not get something from the deli counter, but if they INSIST on standing there, they are finally assisted with an air of ‘why do I have to do this?’ Clearly these employees have other duties behind the counter, but are they so all-consuming that people waiting at the counter get treated as a personal affront? Is this not actually part of their job description? Is money getting deducted from their paycheck every time they make someone a sandwich? Make it make sense. I maintained a chipper and friendly attitude with my sandwich maker, but frankly, she seemed mad that I was ordering something—to the point where I almost asked her, “Have I done something to upset you?” But she was already so impatient I decided not to waste any more of her clearly precious time.

Geez, everybody likes poke so idk why the seafood department insists on closing earlier than they’re supposed to. I went in last night to get poke after work on a Monday night around 7:30pm and everything was already put away. It seemed too early but whatever. Then I made an effort to try come in earlier tonight on Tuesday night around 6:30, sun is even still out. Not everything was put away but all good poke on sale was gone. Only sea salt and limu left. I asked what time they closed and gentleman behind counter told 8pm and they stop making new poke around 5. Idk, I feel like they could make more and sell more especially when it’s on sale. Even not close up earlier than the 8pm “closing time”. Anyway then tonight, again it’s still around 6:30, I try to go to deli counter to see what they got and they are completely closed lights off. Nothing anywhere. Nothing good in cold shelfs too. Then Times next door just as bad. It’s too bad for people such as myself who get off a little later and would like to enjoy a quick fresh meal for dinner. I don’t understand why it’s so difficult to find places that stay open late enough (after 5:30pm) these days, that’s not fast food or an overpriced restaurant. Like I can’t even spend my money when I try, lol, oh well, guess I’ll just keep my money and eat dinner at home then. And if you want poke from the grocery store, I guess you gotta make sure you get there before 5pm, maybe even earlier than that. But it’s not even worth it really here. I’ll just look elsewhere.

EMPTY SHELVES. It's hard not to get frustrated when they so frequently run out of everyday products. They don't order enough...of anything! I can't even meal plan anymore because I don't know what they'll have in stock when I get there. It wasn't always this way. It started 2 years ago and it's continued to this day.

Very convenient. I live close by. I love that they have ample parking. Except on $5 deal Fridays it can be a mad house depending on the time you go. The staff are always nice and helpful.
