Went to buy poke here & it was $15 for such little servings + the guy knew there was something wrong with the rice and still served it so I got hard rice w poke. very disappointed not worth $15

6/16/24 at 12:15pm. I'm doing a new review. I grew up within the area and Safeway was Always there. My parents knew everyone that worked there, such a friendly store. This was only my 2nd time in the store from so many years ago. My cashier? He's name is Nathan! It was a Hot day and we started talking stories. Nathan was mentioning about air conditioner and the window. I just said " I can't Spell a.c." and we, for my husband was there too. Fell out laughing and No!? We weren't quite it was too Hot! Nathan reminded me of all the times my mother went shopping there. For it was the cashiers that you can relate and rely on. They will cash you out, see to it that the baggers pack it right as they reach for the phone to call Emma Cab. In other words Nathan took me home.

The front end manager that was helping the cashiers was terribly rude and demeaning to not only me but the cashier lady who was trying to help me with a return. All I had to do was return the item I bought from the same location I got it from but she turned it into a big deal and made the cashier feel bad about not knowing that. I should have gotten the name of the manager because she should not be working there. The disrespect she had for the employee was so uncomfortable to see and made me upset. I hope upper management gets a chance to see this and acts accordingly. That is not how to treat a customer as well as an employee who was trying their best to do their job. Customer service is the most important aspect of any business and this experience left a bad experience to the point where I no longer want to shop at any safeway. Support local anyway

This has been my go to Safeway for years. Super nice staff even though it might be in a slightly rougher neighborhood.
I’m writing a review today because the manager (haole female) is an amazing human. She is always so helpful and today she helped me find everything I needed for my bbq. I was pretty frazzled running around and she was like what do you need.

wow, they finally let me shop here without freaking out. helps that i haven't stolen anything in a few years. and I'm no longer shooting up in the bathroom. damn, everyone needs to stop doing that so they don't close the only other public bathroom downtown besides walmart. or if you gotta, be quick and leave no footprint. and if you nod, then find somewhere else!

This has got to be the worst of the Honolulu Safeways. The employees are always rude and it makes me wonder if they are treated badly by corporate so they take it out on customers. They also have no understanding of the Safeway rewards program. Perfect example today Raquel and apparently her manager Paula. I mean it's a popular program and just some basic knowledge of it would be helpful. To Raquel's credit she's very personable and tried to help. I don't know what Paula's problem was, she was unpleasant from the jump and I didn't appreciate the attitude. I'm not asking you to memorize anything I'm just saying have a BASIC knowledge of the rewards and redemptions. That's it! If you don't know, at least be pleasant so the customer isn't frustrated all the way around. The glitch on my page plus her attitude was beyond frustrating. I hate to come here and since Beretania is always out of products, I dunno, try Foodland!

So I went into the store to buy lunch, last time ever. They wanted me to leave my $150 Swiss backpack on a pile of homeless looking backpacks that’s unsecured with the security walking around. Not to mention I had valuables in my bag. Even dressed in Gucci I was treated like a criminal for not wanting to leave my bag on a pile of homeless looking bags. I decided to shop at Times. It’s a drive but worth it!!

Very good and fresh produce at reasonable price, make sure you sign up for the membership card and add specials on your card when shopping. This Pali location is open from 5am - 1am.Update: the only thing changed is everything is expensive, now more than ever, make sure to sign up for the Safeway club card to earn points and save. No updates as of January 2024
