Although they only speak English, they were very kind.
The waves in Waikiki in winter are small, so I was advised that it would be better to go a little longer and have more buoyancy. During the rental period, you can change your surfboard for free as many times as you like (although I didn't change it because I was glad I rented it the first time).
I will also rent it here next time.

These guys are the best surf rental in Honolulu. Simple, plenty of inventory and great info on the local spots. Never have to worry about where I’ll rent a board again when I’m in Honolulu.

This place had a great board selection and very friendly staff. Surfed 5 days swapped boards 4 times to match the swell. 2 of the boards I used were nearly brand new Rusty's that looked like they've only been ridden a handful of times. Got to try boards shapes I've always wanted to. Highly recommend!

I think this is the No. 1 shop in terms of price and service compared to rental board shops in central Waikiki. The price as of the end of November 2024 is $30 for a short board, which is definitely reasonable compared to other stores.
There are a wide variety of boards, including major stores such as LOST, FIREWIRE, and PYZEL, and I think the quality of the boards is within an acceptable range. If you tell them your preferences, such as the length of the board or the number of liters, the staff will kindly help you find the one that best suits your needs. The clerk is very friendly, but he can't speak Japanese, so it would be easier if he could speak simple English. The set includes a board and a leash cord, and the wax is about the size of a large dice, so you can basically cover everything. Also, if you tell them where you want to surf that day, they will check the wave information for each point and live camera footage on their computer, and do their best to make the renter as satisfied as possible.
The store opens at 8 a.m., so if you want to surf early in the morning, I've heard that they offer services such as renting from the night before for a cheaper price than 2 days worth, so give it a try.
The shop is located on the first floor of a building called Waiana at Waikiki, where the upper floors are an apartment complex and the lower floors are stores. When you park your car in the underground public parking lot, a staff member will put a barcode sticker on your parking ticket. They will give you 1 hour free.
There is a lot of traffic on the surrounding roads, so if you are coming by car, we recommend parking in the underground parking lot.
Recently, airline board charge fees have become high, and as of the end of November when I traveled with JAL, it was 20,000 yen one way (40,000 yen round trip), and the amount of time you can surf during your stay is limited. It was a great decision to rent one from Quality Surfboards.

This place is so awesome. We needed three boards for a small day in the Waikiki area. These guys set us up with some very nice longboards made by local shapers. It’s just a short walk from the shop to Rockpiles and Ala Moana Bowls, so it’s very conveniently located. The guys working there were super cool and genuinely stoked for us to ride their boards. I will definitely be coming back here next time I’m on the South Shore, great place with great people.
