MY PET DESIGNS
334 Seaside Ave SUITE #304, HonoluluI stopped by thinking it would be nice to have goods that are unique to Hawaii!
The person in charge of the building was sitting at the entrance of the building, so when I asked him about it, he told me the number of the store's room.
The staff at the store speak Japanese very well, so you can shop without worrying ☺︎
There are more cat goods than dog goods, but I bought some dog goods!
The Honolulu cookie toys handmade by the owner were very cute, but I was disappointed that they were sold out.
When I purchased goods, I was told that I could put a pin on the map in the store!
I wrote an illustration of my dog and the date of my visit on a pin and stuck it on the map!
It became a very good memory ♡
It's also a place you definitely want to visit when you go to Hawaii.

Ubu's Barkery
333 Ward Ave Ste 3, HonoluluAdorable little pop up with homemade Hawaiian dog treats. They're at the Ohana Hale on weekends and around the island throughout the week. Our pup is older with less than perfect teeth, so we were unsure if she could eat these as most treats are too hard for her. We bought a box ($8) as these treats are soft and she loves them! We have to break them in half for her, but that just means they last twice as long! Side note: my husband tried a sample lol and said they'd be great with tea. Got to love an all natural treat for your pup that is safe for you to eat, too!

Doggy Box
856 Ilaniwai St #102, HonoluluI don't even want to review this place for fear everyone will see it and want to send their pup here! 5 stars all the way! Mai and her team are literally the BEST in town. We found Mai 12 years ago when we moved to Hawaii and after our baby had her tongue cut off by a previous groomer in CA. Mai is so gentle, patient, and good with the dogs. Her cuts are perfection! I have sat and watched numerous times how well the staff treats the pups and how great they are with handling them, baths, and cuts. The holiday photos at the end of each session always have us laughing and it's our favorite part as dog paw-rents! Doggy Box is amazing. Please don't make an appointment though because it's hard enough getting my pups booked for an appointment when everyone knows how fabulous they are.

Kakaako Pet Hospital
815 Queen St, HonoluluI’ve been bringing my partner and I’s cats here for the past four years. The services and care that Dr. Suganuma (no longer at the practice) and Dr. Granzow (their current doctor) have provided have been nothing short of amazing.
Dr. Granzow is great with our cats. She always meets them where they’re at, and her actions show that their care and comfort is her top priority. She is very straightforward and practical, and she never suggests anything that is unnecessary when deciding treatment for them. She lets us know all of our options and explains them thoroughly so we can make the best choice for our cats. She is always honest with what she thinks is the best treatment, but never makes you feel bad for choosing one way or another. Her practicality is refreshing.
We’ve brought our cats to other veterinarians on island for specialty services, but for general care Kakaako is our favorite by far. Everyone else who works there are also kind and competent. I have peace of mind knowing that our cats are in good hands.
Thank you all for all of your hard work. We appreciate it immensely.

Pet Sitting & Training
Island Dog Obedience
401 Kamakee St, HonoluluRyan did an amazing job at training Ellie. My main concerns were recall/listening, pulling on the leash when walking and jumping. During her training, Ryan was very response and also made sure to send me updates on what they were working on with pictures and videos. When I picked up Ellie, I could tell immediately that her behavior had significantly improved. Ryan took the time to walk me through everything he taught Ellie and how to keep up her training. I had a lot of questions and he was super patient and made sure I was comfortable before taking Ellie back home. Ellie is so much better on walks and has a lot more confidence in public. I no longer have any issues when I let her run around outside because she listens when I call her back in the house. She is also much better at bedtime and will walk straight into her crate when I tell her to go to sleep.
Overall my experience with Island Dog Obedience was amazing and I 100% recommend Ryan to train your dog!

Balanced Obedience
2440 Campus Rd #308, HonoluluWe are so grateful to Sabrina and the staff at Balanced Obedience for the care and hard work they put into our dog Bingo. Our goal is for Bingo to become a Psychiatric Service Dog to our son with ASD. We can't thank Sabrina enough for helping our family with our goals. Before coming to Balanced Obedience, we were having trouble with training Bingo to become a service dog. Despite previous training efforts, Bingo still lacked the level of focus expected of a service dog. He was easily distracted, sniffed around too much when he wasn't supposed to, and would bark at other dogs and people. We enrolled Bingo in the Service Dog program as well as the three-week board and train. There was a noticeable difference after his training with Sabrina! Bingo is now more calm, attentive, focused, and has a much better Heel. He also obeys eagerly without treats! Today we reintroduced Bingo to our children and followed Sabrina's instructions in doing so. Instead of jumping up on them overexcitedly, Bingo was able to stay calm and display proper greeting matters. Sabrina's training goes far beyond just teaching a dog how to do commands. Sabrina does not use treats and e-collars but reinforces using the bond and love and it really shows in Bingo's enthusiasm to listen and please. Bingo has real manners. For example, we used to put him in a Sit-Stay command before walking through a doorway or feeding him his meals. Sabrina's trainings taught him to wait for us to walk through doorways first or to wait for meals without us telling Bingo to hold a sit command. Sabrina emphasizes the importance of dog psychology and teaches you how to effectively communicate with your dog. She is very thorough in not only dog training but more importantly, people training. From correct posture to the way you make eye contact, to facial expressions, she really takes the time to educate you in becoming an effective handler and owner. The difference in our relationship with Bingo was astounding. It's hard to describe but the connection between us and Bingo feels stronger now that Sabrina has taught us how to communicate and understand him. This is a commonly overlooked part of dog ownership but is crucial and we are really blessed to have someone like Sabrina here on Oahu. If you are looking to improve the quality of life for you and your pup and deepen your relationship/bond, then Sabrina and Balanced Obedience is perfect for you. Sabrina's passion for helping others and their pups is priceless, we are fortunate to have her continued support throughout this journey together. Sabrina's training has improved the quality of life for Bingo and our entire family. Bingo is behaved and obedient in different environments. It really means so much to our family to have a service dog and a friend for our son. We can watch our son initiate interactions with Bingo and even improve on his social skills. We are forever grateful to Sabrina for helping make all this possible.

Better Daze
737 Kapahulu Ave, HonoluluBeen wanting to try this spot for quite some time, but it is far of a drive from the Westside. Finally got to try it this past weekend when I was close in the area with friends. You will see the stand as you drive down Kapahulu. Parking might be tight as it shares with the same area with Ono Seafood. But people should be going in and out, if you don't mind waiting. We were there on a Saturday and it wasn't too bad. There are a couple tables out front of the stand if you want to enjoy your drink for a bit. Love the greenery near the stand also. I hope maybe someday they can open a storefront (if that goes along with the plan). But I can see the vibe that they are going for. The drinks were worth the drive out. Definitely mix in the coconut cloud to taste the flavor in the Matcha. Not too sweet, which I like. You're able to modify the milk, for my fellow non-dairy drinkers hehe. It's a smooth mix and I hope to come again to try a different drink.

Southern Love
753 Queen St Unit A, HonoluluNote: This is a brunch review based on three visits. Well cooked, plenty flavorful, stick to the ribs goodness. whose plating belies is industrial Kakaako location. This isn't a fast food, take out, plate lunch spot though they have done a good job balancing the portion size with a friendly price. Breaking it down, biscuits. If your dish doesn't come with one, get one. Fluffy on the inside, crisp on the outside with just the right amount of sweetness. These buttermilk biscuits are great alone, even better smothered in their rich, peppery country gravy. The fried chicken (based on the chicken in the chicken biscuit and gravy), very good. Buttermilk brined. Tender and very juicy on the inside, crisp on the outside without being greasy. Great grits. Rich and creamy. It makes the perfect pairing for the perfectly cooked buttery shrimp. One outstanding bowl of shrimp n' grits. Finally, the garlic chicken and waffles. Different in a good way. Take a crisp house made waffle but instead of plain fried chicken, top it with slices of chicken reminiscent of Hawaii's own garlic chicken. The pairing is brilliant and will blow away the traditional version building with so much more flavor than simply pouring maple syrup over all. Very friendly service. IMPORTANT: This is a small operation. It make take some time for dishes to arrive. Be patient. Also, do not go with a large group. Limited parking in front but plenty of metered street parking in the area. Good thing we have legs. Southern restaurants are hard to find in Hawaii. Southern Love more than satisfies.

He got the Mochi Strawberry Tea and I had the Classic Milk Tea with boba, both were very good! The strawberry taste is very strong and flavorful! The milk tea was perfect (not too strong/overpowering)! Service was amazing! We were warmly greeted immediately upon entrance, and the owner even helped us with the menu options :) They also have stamp cards for future visits! The ambience was calm and relaxing, with light music playing in the background and comfortable couches to rest on. The decor is adorable~ (Just a heads up, there is no restroom so drink slowly if you have a small bladder LOL) There are cute plushies to take photos with, plus a claw machine^^

Cowcow’s Tea
3620 Waialae Ave A, HonoluluI've been here a couple times now and I would say that it's a decent drink spot here in Hawai'i. They're famous for their Purple Rice drinks and the Taro Rice Yogurt as well as the Lychee Rice Yogurt were both good, though definitely pricey. I definitely recommend getting the drinks 25% or 50% sweet as they're on the sugarier side. I didn't love their tapioca pearls as they were a bit mushy, but my friend got the grass jelly and she really liked it as a topping. The service was decent, though the cashier seemed to be in a bit of a rush since it was a busy evening. The inside of the store is super cute and they have a very pink, instagrammable aesthetic. Unfortunately, they don't have a public restroom and seating is very limited (two tables and a short bar with three chairs), making it a difficult place to sit down and hang out with your friends or open up your computer for a long period of time. Also, not completely sure why the back of the store is lined with couches and plushies but not accessible to the public. This place definitely has more of a grab-and-go sort of vibe, where you pose with your drink in front of the floral wall and then immediately leave.

Aloha Smash Burger Waikiki
405 Lewers St, HonoluluAloha Smash Burger Waikiki might be small in size, but it delivers a big punch in flavor, especially with its signature Aloha Smash Burger. Tucked away in the vibrant streets of Waikiki, this place proves that great food doesn't need a sprawling dining space to make an impact. Every bite of their Aloha Smash Burger is an experience in itself. The burger is grilled to perfection, with a wonderful sear on the outside that locks in all the juicy flavors. The star of the show is definitely the beef patty, which is cooked to have a nice crust while staying tender and moist on the inside. You can tell they use quality ingredients, as each layer of the burger--from the melted cheese to the fresh veggies and the soft, pillowy bun, complements the other beautifully. There's a subtle sweetness in the sauce that pairs perfectly with the savory beef, creating a well-balanced taste that makes you want to keep biting into it. The flavors feel thoughtfully put together, giving the burger a unique Hawaiian twist. For burger enthusiasts, Aloha Smash Burger Waikiki should be on your must-try list. It's impressive how they pack so much flavor and quality into such a small space. This little spot has all the aloha spirit and taste you'd expect from a truly memorable Hawaiian burger joint.

‘Ōlena by Chef Ron Simon
Dole Cannery Food Court, 650 Iwilei Rd #135, HonoluluA nice little find inside of near empty Dole Plantation Foodcourt next to Costco. I had the adobo pork belly. We all know there are many ways that adobo can be prepared, but this place’s adobo was different and it was excellent. It looks like the pork was stewed and then fried. It was tender and flavorful. The best adobo I’ve had here or on the mainland. I ordered with half salad and half Olena rice (rice with turmeric). After ordering, you can eat your food in the roomy air conditioned sitting area. And the iced tea was very good as well.
Parking: It shares the parking lot with Costco customers, so you know it’s a madhouse here. So be careful and drive slowly.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes

Lucky Paws Animal Foundation
2875 S King St #102, HonoluluAn amazing boarding resort for cats, very clean, safe secured, well maintained, nicely decorated, high tech with web cams, and friendly caring staff. Conveniently located in town near HHS. The owner founder Chris is a super nice guy too. Attended a cat-themed event there recently and totally loved it. Their rates are reasonable, I will be boarding my cats here when I travel next time or otherwise need to board overnight (house tenting). The best part is in their logo: 'Every stay save a stray '. Gotta love their mission that they save and adopt out rescued cats. Follow their FB or Insta pages, and visit their website, they also need volunteers and donations to support their rescue operations.

Hawaiian Humane Society
2700 Waialae Ave, HonoluluStorytime: A stray orange cat followed my kids home one day. It was limping, dirty, and skinny. The cat was so sweet I was able to bath her, trim her nails and clean her ears but she kept trying to lead me somewhere (like she was lost) she would stop by a car and assume I knew the way.. I didn’t. I felt do bad for her and I knew she was once owned because of her sweet demeanor. Long story short.- one week and a half later I tried to take her to the vet only to be told that tipped eared cats are microchipped and they cant touch her or help her.. only the caretaker or owner can. They suggested the Humane Society. Normally Im not for sending strays to the humane society because they belong to colonies but this cat did not fit that description at all. She was searching for someone. When I got to the humane society they explained the 5 day process and what happens afterwards if the pet is healthy or not. I called and left a message that if owner didn’t get her Id take her. That Sweet cat didn’t have to stay 24 hours there. I was on the website watching her status like a hawk and her picture disappeared by 3ish the next day. I am So happy the Owner found her cat The cat was Searching for something.. this made me cry. Thank you for reuniting this lost cat to its loved one. She is an Amazing sweet feline. Scruffy looking but best soul ever. Such an amazing ending. Thank you Humane Society for reuniting the pet and its owner. (Ewa Beach) location.
