I worked with Derwin and Floyd when my husband passed and because of them everything went smooth as silk.

Celebrating a friends life. Apparently there are two chapels so there were two services going on at the same time. There is ample parking. The area for refreshments is large in a nice surrounding.

Planning for a love one's final resting place was not easy. We didn't purchase any pre-funeral plan nor did my dad say what his wishes were except to be cremated. My parents have a place of burial. She just wanted to bring him home soon, so we decided to make it simple with cremation and order enough death certificates. We were so blessed with Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary's help so far and they were so comforting, helpful & understanding. It put my poor mom at ease to know her husband will be released from Queens Hospital soon and be taken care of. I'm glad this place took us right away since they have five funeral directors. Another Mortuary couldn't meet with us until almost two months later. The prices were listed online at both websites, but Nu'uanu Memorial Park & Mortuary had a more detailed price list which gave my mom a basic idea of the cost. We tried to call my late Uncle's friend, but he wasn't available, but Annette was really helpful and they will further assist us with other plans when my mom is ready. I was really impressed with their service and I also remembered they did a great job with my Uncle's service during the covid pandemic times. The cremation & death certificates took a little over a week and it made my mom happy to have him home for Mother's Day. Thank you Annette and Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary!

Extremely helpful with everything after losing my dad. Very professional and had great suggestions, things I didn't even think of. From burial information cremation, services, food, flowers etc. they covered it all. Very respectful and worth it. Also reasonable prices.

The cost here is insanely high and then on top of it all, after you've put your entire family in absolute debt, if you work and can't get to the graveyard wall plots before 3:30 pm any day of the week, you don't get to put flowers or see your loved one who's passed. It's ludicrous that they close so early. We can't put flowers on my dads grave because they lock up at SOME of the wall burial plot areas at 3:30 pm... but half naked tourists are allowed to loiter and smoke. It's hard enough missing a loved one, it's even worse not being able to see my dad because I have to work a job to pay the absolutely insane bill that putting him to rest incurred. I don't understand why the entire cemetery is open if they lock SOME of wall plots because of "security" reasons... but there are still several that aren't behind gates that are open. It makes no sense. We pay enough to bury our loved ones here, security should do their job and leave it open for families to 6 pm like other cemeteries do. Diamond Head Memorial doesn't close until 6 pm. My poor mom is regretting burying dad here and not at Diamond Head.

Robert was fantastic to work with. He made the whole process seamless and was very responsive and compassionate - so easy to work with. I was able to purchase a casket off island and have it shipped to Nuuanu. They were so accommodating and helped my family through this tough time. Other mortuaries on the island I have experienced with are just in it for the $$$ - so I'm glad we went with Nuuanu. Highly recommend this place to everyone!

I attended a funeral here and it's conveniently located in the middle of town if you live in town. Very organized, and staff are very friendly. When visiting the grave, they have a bathroom you can use, but need the key since there are homeless and visitors using this cemetary's property as a shortcut to walk to the hiking trail. Hours are shortened because of Covid to 3:30p, so plan to be earlier than the posted time on this main page just in case they change their hours again.

My husband suddenly passed away in January of 2020, and amid the chaos of the grief and making arrangements, we went to see another mortuary upon recommendation of a friend. Needless to say, we were unable to see anyone in a timely manner and we called the folks at Nuuanu to see if they could assist us. Derwin, Soo Whan, and their team were simply amazing. They made us feel like family immediately and did everything they could to help us during the transition of losing my husband. They were attentive, gave us great suggestions, and most importantly, gave us the time we needed. They always made me feel like their only customers regardless of the circumstances. My father passed away just a year later, and to my relief, he had purchased a plan with Nuuanu Memorial. When I saw that Derwin and Soo Whan would be assisting us again, I knew that the transition would be seamless... and it was.My father and my husband looked amazing at their services, and everything was taken care of as if we were family. I would recommend them a hundred times over. Thank you guys for taking such amazing care of us!

This is a beautiful peaceful place... HOWEVER: it is not properly maintained! It is DEFINITELY NOT ADA COMPLIANT!!! Sr Citizens have a hard time climbing up and down the stairs in the building! No elevators!!! There is a chair lift but not functioning!!! Shame on you guys! You need to be fined!

So beautiful and tucked away in the bustling city! We enjoyed walking around here as a family and talking about our ancestors.
