I have been frequenting CVS Longs drugs at Hale Pawaa back when it was called Mina Pharmacy. I have always been impressed by the pharmacy staff. The man at the helm is Jason. Knowledge and expertise are to be expected (and Jason obviously has that in spades). But there is another vital and equally important component to the equation. I have dealt with other pharmacists at other locations in the past who have had all the personality of a dead fish and made me feel like I was doing them a favor by asking for their help. What makes Jason a 5-star standout is his affable and caring personality (he puts the person in personality). He makes a necessary medical transaction a welcoming and confidence inspiring experience. I cant say enough about how comforted and secure I feel to have him caring for my pharmaceutical needs. He is truly an asset to the profession.

All the staff of Mina pharmacy are very kind and friendly! The inside of the store is bright, the waiting time is short, I always trust the staff and use it here.

I was sick and I decided to go there to pick up some medecine. With sinus blocking my judgment, I browsed around to look for the sinus medecine. I live next to the Hale Pawaa Medical Building where this Longs Drugs is located and my first visiting. As I go in, there were clinical staff from the building, a customer just leaving and one nurse is having a chat with pharmacist and talking to the pharmacist for as long as 15 minutes. They seem very close to chat that long. A phone call came in and the cashirer picks up the call and lets pharmacist know. The pharmacist continues to the chat for another 3 minutes without acknowledging the cashier. Then the pharmacist is answers the call. Meanwhile, after looking for about 15 minutes trying to choose the right medication, I turn around to ask. The cashier directs me to the pharmacist and explained my needs. He finally suggest the correct medication. Picked it up, pay for it and leave. The Longs Drugs staff there were knowledgeable and polite. The one thing missing was the friendliness. When I entered there was no greeting, how may I help you (well,15 minutes trying to choose the correct medication!), no sympathy for my situation. Nothing. No human sentiment. Imaging! We're in paradise! Most everyone are friendly no matter if your busy with another customer. I worked in the customer service industry and this was one of those mediocre customer service I ever had. I have visited other Longs pharmacy counter and never had this experience. Not sure if the Mina Pharmcy staff ever had a lesson in customer service. Boy, they need one. I'll never shop there unless I have no choice.

Convenient location (if you happen to be in the medical/physician's offices at Hale Pawa'a). Originally Mina's Pharmacy, but now it's Longs. I'm not really sure when the name changed, but the inside basically remains the same, with the addition of the CVS/Longs corporate logos everywhere. Friendly, attentive and competent staff. Your standard pharmacy with medical items, snacks and drinks. We also found a couple great snack deals for just a $1!!!

Totally inept! I called to find out if they did a couple of standard vaccinations. They said yes. I asked if they took my insurance. They didn't know. I called my insurance. Yes. They are a participating pharmacy and I am 100% covered. Called the pharmacy. Do I need to make an appointment? No. But I need a prescription?! (No other pharmacy I'd called, or have called since, needed a prescription for a vaccine.) Another hoop to jump through, but I got my doctor to fax it to them on Friday. I showed up the next afternoon. "We need to get preauthorization from your insurance." So they can't do it today, my only day off for the next three weeks. Um. NOW you tell me!? Then they wouldn't give me back my prescription and said they didn't want to hold on to the pre-authorization for a week because "they'd have to put it away". Gee. Sorry for the inconvenience. These guys are not interested in keeping you healthy. They've already raised my stress level.

What's not to like about waiting maybe 10 minutes for your meds to be filled? Mina also sells snacks, some groceries, and boasts a small cafe. Great addition to the Hawaii market!

Really great. They're fast and great quality. I was going on a trip and forgot I needed extended dosages of my meds. They called my insurance for authorization and made sure I had enough and even asked to refill my other prescriptions too. I also wanted a specific brand of one of my prescriptions (which Longs told me they couldn't order) and Mina Pharmacy got it with no problem.

After calling around and going to eight different pharmacies from Ewa to Downtown, only Mina Pharmacy at Hale Pawa'a was willing to order and stock the medication a family member needed. Not only did they bring in the initial order, but kept a supply on hand for our needs. Great service. Definitely worth the drive.

Incompetent. Filled the prescription wrong. I had to drive all the way back because they didn't answer the phone all morning. Then gives me an attitude. Never again.

The Mrs had a doctors appt this morning in the same building (Hale Pawa'a), so I thought I would drop off a prescription I had just gotten from the Straub clinic (see my review) an hour earlier. I expected to drop it off and go back later after my wife's appt. However, the moment I got all my info and insurance registered, less than 5 min later, I was handed my prescription and on my way! Incredible service. Definitely wish we had such quick and friendly service here on the Big Island.

Conveniently located at the corner of Beretania& Keeaumoku. Two entrances one on Beretania and one Young Street. Covered and validated parking! They deliver (sorry no details as I haven't taken advantage of this) and are open Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm (I think) and til 12pm on Saturday. In addition to the pharmacy they have over the counter medication, snacks, and drinks

Something great I just found out about this pharmacy. They deliver if you put the delivery request in before noon. They even deliver on Saturdays. I'm assuming that the delivery is within a reasonable vicinity and I am within a couple blocks of the location. This is going to soon change my method of monthly drug pick up. AND subsequently, my pharmacy. REALLLLLY SOON...
