june 10 I arrived 750am so i can get tires before work. When i got there, there were 4 maybe 5 employees sitting on the table. Im not familiar with the area and they are, so i rolled my window down and asked
"wheres a good place to park"
they all laughed and young guy said "you cant park here, you see the chains?"
i said "im not asking to park on your property, wheres a good place to park around here till you open?"
the older guy said "wea eva u like"
that was the best parking advice they gave me. because i parked at vip tires 2 miles away. they didnt open till 830, but the guy there was kind and alerted me i was early but i am welcome to stick around. and the tire guy came in at 815 and they helped me early. no bad attitude, no one laughed, they were fast, maybe 15-20 minutes altho i didnt time them but thats what it felt like. they had a vending machine, i bought the guys there drinks. vip tires over mikes tires any day

I was stuck between a rock and a hard place with a car on the side of the freeway and no spare! Pulled the tire off and realized no spare, so had to find a place quick to get something that held air to keep the car from getting towed. Their location is pretty congested adjacent to Ham's produce / seafood. I had to go around the block to get parking and then the realization that they only take cash. had to head out again and hit an ATM machine... $125 for a used tire seemed pretty expensive, but it's a low profile tire and probably not cheap to begin with...
All in all, they had what I needed and got the car off the freeway safely

Wish there was negative stars. They will go extra miles to rip you off. ALWAYS. Sad that there's people like dat. They could have done right and they make sure to do you wrong somehow. Vultures.

Please ask your female driver refrain from honking at tourists when trying to exit the hotel driveway in Waikiki. Please be patient and allow pedestrians to pass, as they have the right of way. It reflects poorly on your business to have your name on the side of your car while honking at tourists and pedestrians. This behavior is not acceptable and would warrant a one-star review.

Was driving on H1 behind a Mike’s Tire Shop truck when the driver very clearly threw something out the window. It bounced then hit the front of my car, leaving a dent and scratch. I wonder if they’re fishing for business by TRYING TO POP PEOPLES TIRES or if they simply have NO RESPECT FOR THE AINA.

I’ve patronized Mike’s Tires for years and this is the second time I’ve had this issue. First time I chose to not review it. Eventually, a scam has to be called a scam.
Mike’s is generally fast and generally cheap. But not always. Today I called in advance of crossing town to get two used tires. I called and CLEARLY asked if they had a specific sized tire USED in stock. I was put on hold momentarily and then assured that plenty were there. I drove over, the tech removed the two tires and began the process. Mike then pulled up and walked in seemingly to help out. He asked what size and when the tech told him, his response was this to me: “why not get new, $150 each. Cheaper than anywhere else.” It’s not cheaper than anywhere else as I had just priced firestone out the door at $235 for two.
I explained that, and that the car is secondary and may not last and that I called asking and am just looking for used. He switched went directly to “take your money somewhere else then and wait two hours. I don’t need your money.”….. and telling me I must be confused and must’ve called somewhere else.
We had a little 15 second verbal exchange and went our ways. Mike is well known on Oahu for his tire shop and building custom motorcycles. I like that he gives guys opportunities to work they may not be given elsewhere. But at the end of the day he’s directly fed the same lie to the same customer multiple times in order to bait and switch into a more expensive sale than initially planned on. When it comes from the top, I have to leave this review because apparently the business isn’t run with any real ethics or values.

Very misleading with pricing. They initially told me $50 to mount two tires. Then charged $25 per tire to also dismount 4 tires. Also told me that they balanced wheels (another $30). They definitely did not balance them as they are shaking/wobbling pretty bad. I Left feeling robbed. Highly recommend not going here for any kind of service.
