“Ham. You can eat it cold. You can eat it hot. You can eat it here. You can eat it there. In a house, with a mouse, in a box, with a fox... And Ponyo loves ham ham! Anyway... I live in Kaimuki and my hubby and I have been trying to eat at Honey Hams for the past couple of months. The timing was never right - ( open from 10:00-3:00 Tuesday-Saturday ) it seemed like every time we remembered we wanted to go was on a Monday, or after 3:00! It was Friday, and we took the day off to help a dear friend. After a day of running around and no time for breakfast, we were starving and said it was the perfect time to try Honey Hams out. We pulled into the parking lot and walked in... immediately felt a homey comfy vibe. We already stalked the menu online so knew what we wanted. There were a lot of cute items to look at, I bought my mom the perfect dish cloth as an add on for Mother's Day. Super friendly service, and I think I may have found a Sanrio/Hello Kitty friend here, Leslie! On to the food... my Turkey pesto melt was one of the best sammiches I have ever eaten. It was perfect. The croissant was so flaky and complimented the Turkey and pesto. Hubby had the ham sammich, and wolfed it down. The Portuguese soup had so many chunks of ham. It was just a tad bit too salty, but not too salty I couldn't finish it. We will definitely be back again - I'm going to try the Ham plate next!”
“I am moved by Kukui's sausages. The King Kong hotdog is the way to go. Smothered in cabbage, currywurst sauce, cheese, and a gigantic Portuguese sausage, this dog was nothing short of satisfying and substantial. I'm not gonna lie, I might've gotten emotional over how juicy and flavorful the wiener was. Took some good bites; I have a pretty big mouth but it was difficult for me to not get sauce all over my face. The tangy kimchi sausage was not my favorite and I realize now that pairing it with the salsa on top might've been sour overload. But still a unique and tasty sausage for those who want to try something different. You can find this place at the KCC Farmer's Market every Saturday morning. :) There's a long line but it moves fast and you will be gobbling down that sausage in no time!”
“Just tried the chicken broth (5 mins ago). I was startled. Taste fresh, homemade. Startled because been drinking a natl brand (that has a K and an F in the name)..that in comparison seems dull, packaged,...but it is less expensive and is easy to store (at room temp) for times you run out of Forage broth (which needs to be frozen for storage..prob a good sign).”
“Higa Meats provides good quality meats and cuts that are to the customers' liking. Poultry, beef, or pork, whatever the selection, the price is reasonable. Staff service is good. They're welcoming, friendly, and helpful in getting your meats sorted out. Inside looks to be like an office, but they have the freezer and equipment in the back. Everything looked organized and tidy. Payment Cash or credit Parking Private lot”
“Long time mainstay in Kalihi, moved from there original location behind where American Savings Bank now resides. Great for last minute grab n go's, BBQ meats(kinda pricey) sometimes poke, order ahead party platters(Godsend).”

“Since we had eaten garlic shrimp at nearby Giovanni's, we each had one, but since they weren't very big, they were so delicious that we could have eaten the whole shrimp.
I think it's expensive due to the strong yen, but it was delicious.”
