October 9, 2023.There are 5-50lbs dumbbells and 1 bench. There isn't a bench press setup, but there are plenty of chest machines and alternatives. There are no barbells. For cardio, there are bike machines, treadmills, ellipticals, row machine, and a stair machine. There are various leg, shoulder, and back machines, including leg press and cable machine.

Excellent place, just no benches for use with free weights.

Visited this facility in July 2021. The following is a review I wrote on another website: “24/7 gym with small locker room and daily use lockers. Men's locker room was in terrible shape in 2019 with cockroaches running around the shower and latrine areas. Just visited a couple of weeks ago and it looks like the cleaning staff really takes pride in keeping this place clean and fumigated (a blessing due to COVID19). The locker room looks like it's been recently renovated with A/C, new shower tiles, shower curtains and toilets. However, the cardio machines (i.e. Treadmills, Ellypticals, Rowers) could use a makeover. Ample free weights are available & FREE WIFI!!!! Makalapa Gym is a well-kept secret, if you want to avoid crowded military gyms. BTW access to the gym is open to ALL military ranks, active duty, retirees, DOD personnel with valid ID cards.”

Smaller gym, no squat rack or bench but it's simple and never crowded. Some good machines and cardio equipment...

Military and DoD civilians can get a decent workout, but the equipment is heavily used and could use updating. The best thing is it is open 24 hours. Worst thing is it is unmanned and the maintenance is mediocre.

I love working out at this little gym. Got what I want for workouts. Does anyone know if it's still open during this outbreak?

Convenience is the biggest PRO for this gym. Located in The Crater on the PACFLT compound, it's location is central to every building and generally parking is pretty good as it's back away from the main drag. It's super small, though, with a limited selection of cardio and resistance options. Locker room is small but decent.

Honestly this is the only gym I’ll go to here. Have most of the equipment you need. Have cable tv, standard cardio equipment, but mostly arm machines. Not much for abs or legs /:. But they give you other tools to get it done (Matts, balls, etc). This place is never as busy as the big gyms on base and I can definitely appreciate that.

Fine for cardio and circuits. No barbells or squat racks. Just ok really.

Small gym perfect to get away from the large crowd across the street. Have most of what you need except a few things, would be nice if there were more ab/ leg equipment. Very clean, has lockers, showers, Tv's with cable. Pretty nice

Small gym, no one to check your ID but there is a sign in sheet as soon as you walk in to the gym area. They have treadmills, elliptical, small selection of free weights, yoga ball, and weight machines. There is maybe 3 other people tops when I go at noon during the week. Very quaint little gym. Perfect if you hate the big one. Love this gym because it's never busy!

Small gym with way less people than the Pearl Harbor gym. Base access needed and sign in sheet. Lots of parking. Has the essentials... weights, resistance, cardio. They spent a LONG time renovating the bathrooms/showers. Way less options than the pearl harbor gym but I still prefer it. Less people and even has a walking path next to the grass field.
