Excellent first visits with our new Corgi puppy. Knowledgeable and attentive staff and excellent vet in Dr. Lau. We’re new to the clinic and couldn’t be more pleased!

I had an injured animal I caught at a local park and called them for assistance. They told me they were not accepting new patients. I explained the situation. They gave me a phone number which of course was an answering service. Total bullshit. I had no choice but to take the animal back to the park were i found t and let it go. It broke my heart and I was late to work. As a animal rights activist for 30+ years I was disgusted with this place and will not take any of my rescue pets there for service and I live right next door to this dump. If you have an emergency do expect help here

we are so grateful for Dr. Lau and staff. We called en route to their office after our dog got injured hoping they would be able to treat him right away. They were immediately able to get him in. We were able to avoid the ER, get X-rays and have him examined by a doctor we trust the second we pulled into the parking lot.

I brought my dog to Island Vet for an updated allergy shot and to check out some spots on his belly, and was then charged hundreds of extra dollars for vaccinations I did not ask for. The receptionist (who spoke to me very rudely) insisted I had asked to update the vaccinations when I booked the appointment, and that the technician had confirmed this with me (which she did not).The vet, Dr. Lau, came out to speak to me, alongside the technician. He was very rude, aggressive, and accusatory in the way he spoke to me. While I understand protecting your employees, he dealt with the situation in an incredibly unprofessional manner, and his aggression made me concerned as he deals with animals for a living. Dr. Lau ended up saying that he wouldn't charge me, "and then we'll be done." The technician returned my dog without saying a word to me. Overall, I was shocked by how unprofessional, unfriendly, and aggressive the staff here was.

The visit was great, with Dr. Lau explaining all his assessments of our newly adopted dog from the Humane Society. Unfortunately, COVID has made safety precautions a number one priority, with distancing in place, not allowing for in office interaction. However, due to circumstances, Dr. Lau's explanation of and evaluation Katsu's health and medical conditions were well received. Just wish COViD counts went down, and in office visits back to normal

Dr Bert and Dr Rachel are by far the best veterinary doctors on the island. My 12 y.o. Shih tzu has been their patient for some time now and they have never failed to provide him the best care possible. He has allergies and they make him comfortable and less itchy as well as treating and monitoring his cushings disease extremely well. And then there's Chris and Christina Wow - talk about great service and pleasant every single interaction I've had when calling the clinic. They came highly recommended from and a friend and I highly recommend them

This was such a great place,I enjoyed talking with all of them,and they really made my girl Stevie feel at ease and that's not an easy job. Dr. was very kind and friendly ,took time to actually have a discussion with me about my dog,and even had time for a friendly conversation with me that had nothing to do with dog. Very special place. I'd recommend it to everyone !!!

My chihuahua mix suddenly was paralyzed from IVDD and I was told by the emergency vet that he would most likely never walk again and surgery to try fix the disc would be upwards of $9,000. I was referred to Dr. Lau who ultimately gave my dog another chance with conservative treatment. Within a short amount of time, my dog went from being unable to feel in his hind legs to now running and moving around freely. His work and dedication to his clients are unmatched, and I couldn’t be more grateful to all that he’s done for our family! It is truly a miracle.

Dr. Rachel and her Dad and staff there they are so friendly and loving to the pets that comes in. They take good care of Hoku. I would recommend my friends and family who has a pet to take it to them.

Great experience. They took really good care of kitten. We adopted him from the humane society and he was a stray so he had a few problems that needed to be addressed. They did a really good job of explaining everything and even clipped his nails for us free of charge. We feel like he is in good care with them.

I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Rachael and Bert Lau. They are both so knowledgeable and explain things so well. The front desk staff is also super helpful and organized. There are reminder systems in place and just in general the communication is excellent. I wouldn't say anything bad about my last vet and maybe their medical care was excellent too but things were not really explained to me so it was hard to feel like I could trust them or feel like my cat was receiving adequate care--it is the total opposite with Island Veterinary Care--they are so caring and really take the time to explain everything to me. I am just so so happy we switched to them.
