The food court is recommended. You can enjoy a variety of Hawaiian local beers at the beer bar.
However, there were not many Japanese people there when I went.
And local beer bars? You can also enjoy interacting with other people.

The international marketplace was a very nice wall. In the afternoon, we would usually go for a walk to the mall, and we would be able to visit a bunch of different shops, including Mitsuwa which had great food and we got dinner there more than once.

Beautiful mall, different from the ones here, it's in front of the waikiki beach.

Interesting mall with some curios shops. Definitely interesting for the Japanese supermarket in the back. Also beautiful natural spaces with big trees and a nice waterfall.

Beautiful open air mall with a good variety of stores, with food options towards the rear of the mall. The break from the sun was most welcome. The water feature running through the front half of the mall around the banyan tree was lovely - the kids and I were able to spot some fish in the water and even came across a mother duck and her duckling during another visit. The tree house has a great bit of history to go over as well.

Nicely designed and well kept market place that offers a wide variety of eateries and oubs that are open late until the night.

Amazing outdoor mall. It used to be very different with stalls more akin to a swap market. Now, it’s a mall with some high end brands. The tree is still magical.

Oh my. It has changed from when I grew up. The only thing that hasn't changed much is that glorious banyan tree.

Well, I was on Waikiki over fifty years ago, and the Market Place was much more beautiful and romantic. I wouldn't like it in its current form at all. Just like the alamoana shopping center. Way too modern.
