The Honolulu Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) handles vehicle inspections. Many reviewers found the staff to be very friendly, professional, welcoming, and outstanding. They answered questions and helped with paperwork. Several customers specifically recommend booking a FASTPASS appointment, which allows documents to be green-lit ahead of time for a smoother and faster process. It is noted that the inspection crews take mandatory breaks, including lunch from 1200-1300, during which inspections pause but sign-in continues. Reviewers advise following all guidelines to ensure a smooth experience. Key preparation tips include having a visibly clean car inside and out, ensuring less than a quarter tank of gas, and knowing your vehicle's mileage upon arrival. While walk-ins are accepted, be prepared to wait an hour or two. The overall consensus from these reviews is that if you prepare well in advance, read the requirements, and follow directions, the process will be smooth and you should not have any issues. Some note that service is fast and operations are smooth when guidelines are met.

All staff was very friendly and welcoming. They do accept walk-ins, but be prepared to wait an hour or two. The inspection crew takes lunch from 1200-1300. You can still sign in and wait, but dont expect to pick up your vehicle during this time.
