Hickam Thrift Shop is a hidden gem located on base, requiring military access for entry. It is a relatively small shop compared to larger thrift chains but is generally well-curated and well-organized with separate rooms. The store offers a smaller selection of uniform items than some others but occasionally has insignia or components. It also carries a good amount of local school shirts and uniforms. Kid clothing can be very inexpensive, and there is a big baby and toddler room. Shoppers can find inexpensive treasures, delightful gems, and really cheap clothes, with clothing prices noted as by far the cheapest on the island for any thrift shop. Some items can be a bit pricy for thrift, but the shop almost always has special sales, such as items at half-price, a 15-for-$1 book sale, or books at 10 for a dollar. The staff is always friendly. A punch card system is offered for spending over $10, and volunteers can earn a 50% discount. All purchases help fund grants and scholarships for the military community and beyond. The store has a small fitting room and does not offer refunds or returns. Toys, home goods, and holiday decor tend to go quickly.
Why the high prices? I think it turns people away from shopping and donating which ultimately hurts their capacity for charitable giving.

It has a smaller selection of uniform items than the Pearl harbor thrift store but you can occasionally find a few insignia or components for a fair price.

Love this place! The staff is always so friendly even on their busiest days. Clothing prices by far the cheapest on the island for any thrift shop. Love the sales they throw and the punch card system! Definitely a hidden gem.
