Did not expect an exchange off base to have such a wide selection. It's tucked in a corner so it doesn't stand out much but is very large on the inside. It was a mix of standard exchange stock and everything a tourist would want from a visit to Hawaii. I was able to get several reasonably cheap gifts for my co-workers and the folks running it were kind and kept the place clean.

a gentlemen rang me up and was super rude, like i was an inconvenience to him. didn’t say hi, nor the total price, didnt even ask if i needed a receipt. just got to the hotel today and wasn’t a great way to start the vacation. i dont care if u are having the worst day on earth, u fake it. will be reporting to upper management. the girl working there didnt say anything either, was super weird. they were just chatting away like i wasn’t there. im a local boy and getting treated like this is sickening. if you don’t want to be there, don’t work! Won’t be shopping there ever again.

if i could give negative stars, i would. being a local boy born and raised on Kauai, this might have been the worst customer service i have ever had in hawaii, and i am not exaggerating. got in the store, no hi, no f u, nothing. so i said okay whatevers. there was two self-checkouts that had people. so i went to the african american gentleman at the counter. he didn't say hi, didnt say did u find everything u were looking for today? nothing. i pulled out my cacc card and he looks at it and just gives me a little head nudge. rings me up, doesnt tell me the total. inserted my card and paid. after i paid, didnt ask if i need the receipt as it was already awkward, so i said i dont need a receipt. he nudges his head again and that was the entire transaction on my first day back home. he was talking to a chick who also works there. was standing right in front of me and didnt say have a good day, f u, nothing. i have been all over the world, this has to be the worst shopping experience i have ever had. will never go to this exchange again and my ohana and i won't book with the hale koa again.

Friendly staff and prices are better than off post. For a quick drink, try the smaller shopette to the left of the main shopette doors.

100% ID/sponsor eligibility check. Conveniently located inside the Hale Koa property, it is such a treat to have a store that carries essentials, food, drinks, alcohol, souvenirs, and even clothes. If you forget something on your trip this place becomes your saving grace! The staff is friendly and helpful. Upon my first purchase my kids picked up mac and cheese and the lady who was checking IDs by the self check out line handed us spoons without being asked! I wouldn't have even thought of asking. We've stopped here for morning coffee, afternoon snacks, even hotdogs and fruits! I've also seen patrons purchase additional luggage from here!Thank you for having a PX on site! We appreciate you!

Way more stuff than I would have thought. A little light on toiletry type stuff, lots of snacks and drinks, maybe a little heavy on souvenirs. Best prices in town.

Well I checked in to the Hale Koa on a Tuesday so the Exchange was out of orange juice. Wednesday they were out of low fat milk! You can buy bread there but not butter. They seem to do a much better job at managing the inventory of aloha shirts than of groceries! And they sell milk and juice in containers too large to fit the mini-fridges in the hotel rooms. I believe most customers at this Exchange are hotel guests, so why are they so tone deaf? It's certainly convenient, but I have to go to ABC or elsewhere to buy basic food items.

It was so nice having this on the Hale Koa property. Snacks, souvenirs, even an extra suitcase to bring home those souvenirs were all purchased at the exchange. The location was convenient and the selection was great!
