This review is long overdue... but here goes! I have been taking my fur baby to King Pet Hospital for 8 years after trying two other clinics in town (They lacked professionalism). If you are searching for a vet clinic where you and your pets are treated with respect and at most care, look no further! The doctors and the team are extremely caring and knowledgeable, you wouldn't want to take your pets anywhere else. My dog needed a dental surgery and had to extract seven teeth. Although our previous doctor Dr. Ganzer no longer works there, Dr. Nicole Wong was amazing! She kept us updated with progress on the surgery day, and followed up how my dog is doing the next day as well. My dog's extraction sites healed much quicker than anticipated, and he is happy again! He now actually let us brush his remaining teeth! On top of that, they gave us a generous discount! We really appreciate King Pet Hospital's professionalism and integrity.

We are so fortunate and blessed to have Dr. Wong as our pet's vet. She is very loving and for that reason, our Bella's fear of visiting the doctor is minimized. Besides loving, she's thorough and will call with suggestions and explains the rationale for it. Once she received the test results, she called us immediately with the good news. The staff is also very nice and gentle with Bella. We live close to another good pet facility, but we'd drive the distance just to have Bella remain in the best vet's hands.

All Veterinarians are not equal! We started out at another vet clinic and being new fur parents to our puppy we had lots of questions and concerns. When I mentioned to a friend that we understand we are in a pandemic but have not spoken to our vet once and all questions were answered by his staff. I was referred to King Street Pet Hospital and we were lucky to get Dr. Goo. She answers all our questions and I feel very confident with the care that our doggie is getting. The staff is friendly and Bailey responds so well to all of them. As an added bonus KSPH is open 7 days a week and 4 days a week they are open to 7:30p. What a win because doesn't everything always happen on Sunday or after 5p? We highly recommend King Street Pet Hospital!

Terrific Service! I needed an appointment for my cat Pepper because he was scratching a lot lately even though he is an indoor cat and we have a clean household environment. I called 2 other veterinarians, one on Beretania St. and the other in Kapahulu. Both were unavailable and booked solid for the day. I called King Street Pet Hospital and left a message. Sherrie called me back and got information on what was the problem with Pepper. She said she would leave a message with the Doctors and get back to me. Within 30 minutes she called me back and said Dr. Mukai could see Pepper that same day. She explained the procedure when arriving at the location and that they require masks if accompanying your pet inside. They have new client/patient forms on their website which can be printed and filled out prior to the visit and this really helps speed the check-in process. I filled out both forms prior and brought them to our appointment. We arrived at the Hospital, called to let them know we arrived and gave them our parking stall number. Rebecca came outside to bring us in to the exam room and got information on Pepper. Dr. Mukai came in shortly. Dr. Mukai thoroughly examined Pepper and gave us information to relieve his scratching. They treated Pepper with great care. She also updated his shots. Dr. Mukai, Rebecca, and Sherrie were very informative, polite, professional, and efficient. I highly recommend them. Thank you very much Dr. Mukai, Rebecca, and Sherrie!

I've been taking our dog here for about 2 years now. The last visit we had was because our female dog had a lump around one of her nipples. After being worried it could be cancer since she was not spayed yet, I called the office and explained my concern. The tech was super nice and conveyed my message to dr wong who ended up seeing us the next day even though she was pretty booked. She prescribed antibiotics and told us it was most likely mastitis and it should go away after the pills were done. Our dog is totally fine now and the lump is completely gone. Thanks dr wong for taking time out of your day to see us and for the reassurance we needed!!

King Street Pet Hospital has a great team of veterinarians, and we usually see Dr. Fujie. For several years, he has provided very good, conscientious, and caring medical services to our dog and two cats. The office staff and medical assistants are also very kind. However, yesterday they went above and beyond to help me personally. I needed to buy more food for my dog and they only had the 17 pound bags available. I have a bad back and could not handle this heavy bag. So they divided the bag into five baggies so I could carry the food home in parts. I didn't suggest this: they offered to do it. I was very impressed and grateful.

They are so nice. Always they squeeze in our Boxer if appointment not available. Now they opened for customer to take your furbaby inside if you want as long as you wear a mask. Staff is very polite and Dr very acknowledgeable.

I don't normally do reviews and think I've only done three and two of them have been for King Street Pet Hospital. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I LOVE King Street Pet Hospital! For years I was taking my two dogs to Kalihi Pet Clinic, and I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have found King Street Pet Hospital. I totally understand that the pandemic changed the way companies previously did business but when something seriously happens and you call to try and schedule an appointment for your furbaby and no one picks up and you are instructed by the voice mail message to schedule an appointment online, you expect someone to call you back. It took two days, me frantically trying to find another vet that would take in a new walk, ended up rushing my dog to an emergency hospital only to have it pass and as this is happening, then and only then does my Kalihi Pet Clinic call back. It was too late, when I informed that TJ passed they tell me I should have kept calling back to schedule an appointment and I tell them that I called several times and that no one ever picked up and the message said that we need to schedule appointments online so that is what I did several times for two days. The tech tells me that scheduling appointments online like are more to schedule food/medication pick ups and annual appointments and that they try to check it when they can. I mean are you seriously kidding me, no where was it mentioned or stated online for emergencies to call the clinic for an appointment. They even had the nerve to send me an annual appointment reminder for Toby and TJ three weeks ago. King Street Pet Hospital hadn't even seen Toby yet but since I dropped off Toby's records the first time I brought in Teddy they must have noted in their records when he was due for his an appointment because they sent me an email reminder that Toby was due for his annual appointment. I requested to schedule an appointment online the next morning, then someone called me back the same day to schedule Toby's annual appointment. I cannot tell you what a drastic difference in service this is then what I was use to getting. I was even called a couple days prior to Toby's appointment with an appointment reminder and found out that King Street Pet Hospital has started up allowing pet parents to come into the office with their pets now. You just have to let the tech know that you would like to go in with your furbaby when you call to let them know that you are outside. We didn't opt for this on this visit but it's nice to see that they are now starting to offer this service. Dr. Wong calls you to explain everything in detail and lets you know what needs to be done and gets your authorization before proceeding. I've come to King Street Pet Hospital three times, twice for Teddy's 3rd and 4th month shots and now once again for Toby's annual visit. Each time, they were very professional and I never waited longer than 40 mins total for each appointment. On Monday Toby was in and out before I knew it and after the tech walked out with Toby, and as we were waiting for the tech to bring back my credit card Dr. Wong, came out to talk to us and go over again how the appointment went and asked again if we had any questions or concerns. Teddy was also in the car and as soon as he saw Dr. Wong, he sprinted across the car to see her. I think he has a crush on Dr. Wong. Thank you Dr. Wong, Dr. Gazner and the staff of King Street Pet Hospital for your professional service and always taking such great care of my furbabies Toby and Teddy.

I really don't like leaving less than stellar reviews, but I wanted to be honest about my experiences with King Street Pet Hospital. 8/24/2020 The experience was okay, I didn't know what to expect. Due to the nature of covid, it was drop off and pick up service for my cat (she was around 4-6 months old at this time). To give some context, I was previously at Blue Cross Animal Hospital and wanted to transfer my cat to a newer and more modern setting. The initial appointment at KSPH was as friendly as a drop off service could be. The appointment took 40 minutes or so and after that, we scheduled my cat to get spayed. This initial examination was just shy of $106. 09/01/2020 My cat was scheduled to be spayed with Dr. Wong at KSPH. I notified them ahead of time that my boyfriend, her other legal owner, would be taking her to the appointment and picking her up as I was working at that time. There was a lot of confusion of them calling me while I was at work, not calling my boyfriend, and then my boyfriend was lost as to where our cat was and what was going on. When he went to pick her up, they would not release her to him and then called me for verification. After I said he's good to pick her up, they temporarily misplaced my cat and my boyfriend was getting realyl agitated with them as he clearly did not have her, and she was still somewhere in the hospital. After another phone call to me to re-verify that he can pick her up, he paid the bill and finally picked up our furbaby. The spaying was just shy of $523.000. The biggest reason we went to KSPH is because I wanted my pet to be operated by a reputable vet surgeon and not undergo complications from past reviews I read at Blue Cross. Overall, we were grateful for the successful surgery and although the experience was less than pleasant, we accepted it. 01/29/2021 I received an email noting my cat's semi-annual wellness exam was due. I called the office and asked if the semi-annual was necessary when she saw the doctor back in September. The receptionist was kind enough to explain that it's automated and in her opinion, I can wait and do the yearly in July. 07/24/2021 This was the nail in the coffin for us. KSPH was still continuing with remote covid procedures, however, there was an extreme lack of communication from the entire front desk. I called to check in and let them know that my boyfriend will be dropping her off because I was at work. When he arrived, he notified them of which parking stall he was in, let them know that our cat is in her carrier. Some time passes by and I (me, not my boyfriend) get a call from another receptionist noting that I'm late for my appointment and they'll cancel my time slot. I explained that my boyfriend is in the parking lot and has been waiting for our cat to get picked up. They eventually call him back, get our cat and then call ME again to state that the appointment will take anywhere from 20-40 minutes. I let my boyfriend know and he drives away -- he doesn't even get down the street and they call to say her appointment is completed. It was a brief 10 minutes. We have NO IDEA what was performed, examined, etc,. I call back, a bit upset because they've just sent "us" on our way, only to be called back to suddenly and they explained they were doing the examination while on the phone with me. My boyfriend claims they had her for less than 10 minutes and there was no way they were examining my cat while they were on the phone with me - asking me where I was and what was to be done. This exam, again, just shy of $106. THEN, they said because I did not supply a stool sample, I'll need to come back for another examination with a stool sample -- no one told me to bring a stool sample! The receptionist on the phone (not the same one from January) was incredibly insensitive, had some attitude and I get it - you probably work with a lot of rowdy animals and annoyed parents, but it was the "tsk" mouth smacking noises that she made in rebuttal to my questions that really annoye

We had our latest visit with Dr. Nakamura recently. As always, the staff is professional, respectful and gracious. They are compassionate with each animal brought in. Since you still have to wait in your car, the ability to observe staff with others gives you an excellent perspective on their consummate kindness. Dr. Nakamura always calls us after the exam, discusses findings, makes recommendations, and ensures we follow up with next appointment. If a test result takes time to orocess, a staff member will call within a few days with the results. We continue to be so appreciative of their care and concern of our cherished pet. We would recommend them to any pet owner for excellent and compassionate care.
