Fishcake is a delightful hidden gem in the back of the Ward area, a charming enclave offering a unique mix of food vendors, a furniture store, pottery, a salon, and more. It's a place that came highly recommended, and I was specifically urged to try the hand-pulled noodles available on Saturdays, a popular item known to sell out well before 1pm. Taking this advice, I had the pleasure of sampling the Hand Pulled Biang Biang Noodles from @shimas_oodles.of.noodles, and it was an absolutely incredible experience. The noodles themselves were a testament to the art of hand-pulling, possessing the perfect texture that only skilled hands can achieve. The spicy sauce, when combined with the extra homemade chili oil I requested, resulted in a dish that was nothing short of culinary perfection. Having tried hand-pulled noodles in various places from Honolulu to NYC, I can confidently say that these noodles are a standout. They balance heat and flavor impeccably, making every bite a delightful exploration of taste. And at a price point of $13, it's an unbeatable value for the quality you receive. The only caveat is the limited availability - not only do these noodles sell out quickly, often before 1pm, but they are also only offered once every other week. This exclusivity means you need to plan your visit early to ensure you get your fill. Despite this, the wait and effort are absolutely worth it for a chance to indulge in some of the best hand-pulled noodles around.

I always drove/walked by Fishcake, wondering what the heck this place was. I'd hear that they did pop ups on weekends and finally had a chance to check it out when Shima's had their noodle pop up there.First of all - parking is difficult. They only have maybe 3 stalls right out front & besides that you're left to fight with the UFC gymgoers for street parking lol. Luckily we found one maybe a block away so it wasn't too bad!The inside is so cute! They have tables where you can enjoy your food, cute artwork, clothing etc etc. Very boutique vibes. While we were waiting for our Shima's order, we grabbed some amazing shave ice from Chillest & kept on walking around fish cake. The store extends back and also a bit to the right, so lots of explore. Unfortunately we didn't buy anything this time. If the parking wasn't so unfortunate & maybe we went on a busy less chaotic day I would've enjoyed myself more but I will def be back for another pop up!

Went to see our family friend's art (Chiho) on display for the Just for Now exhibit. My company made the decals for the show door so I went to the opening to show my support. They had a very strong female Japanese presence (since that's what the show was showcasing) and I loved it! Can't wait to see the new shows and check out the food showcases (there is a different vendor daily).

Housing an eclectic collection of interior decor, art pieces, and other whimsical knickknacks, Fishcake has just about everything the artist in you desires. Attended a jewelry workshop with my bf, and it was a lovely experience learning how to utilize the "lost wax casting" technique to turn wax creations into wearable forms of sterling silver art. Definitely emphasized the meticulousness and time that goes into each piece, and underscored why made-to-order jewelry may come with a higher price tag: you're paying for quality, time, and overall dedication. :)

Fishcake...grounded fish and or other seafood mixed with a binding item along with any ingredients that may otherwise be thrown away which then is usually fried or steamed and is a great meal or an accent garnish to add that flair...not quite! This uniquely artsy furniture and home decor shop is home to various artists including the current Maneki Neko show which I absolutely love being Japanese and have been educated throughout my childhood of it's representation hold very dear to me and seeing the various visions of different artists is breathtaking! This review is actually celebrating it's 15th birthday...what!?! Seriously yes and what a celebration as many of it's friends all came out and embraced this lovely place. Honobono sampler bites and sips, @hawaii_an_napua stunning sweets, @sweetie_hnl, Dj @fernsnstuff and a bunch of local artists made it a night of amazing inspiration. They not only have items for sale in their shop they bring in creative minds in every thing you can't imagine that they do in their Fishschool! @fishschoolhawaii is their Instagram page is a must as they post all classes online and it goes FAST! Did you every want to make jewelry, pottery, tapestry or just painting and don't know where to begin this is a great way to pick the instructor's brain as away and learn. Walk away with a piece of your own creation. You are your own inspiration and the incubator cafe is a place I'd love to have the opportunity to enjoy. Like making fishcake It's the little things brought together creates the greatest joy.Thank you!

I was in the area, and I was in need of some sort of gift to bring to a Christmas dinner. I was about to go to Whole Foods for a flower arrangement, but I decided to support local. I am so glad I did because I was able to get something so much nicer for around the same price! I went to Fishcake, and the guy who usually makes flowers was out for the day. However, one of the ladies working in the front helped me out and said to check out Islandboy right next door. I'm not sure if Islandboy is part of Fishcake or not, but the arrangement Andrew was able to make me was absolutely stunning!! He asked me what my budget was, what it was for, and when I would be ready to pick it up. He was able to put something together in under an hour. The family I gave the flowers to loved it just as much as I did. He said that flowers were from Hilo. I would definitely recommend checking out Islandboy if you need a beautiful flower arrangement!

A great store with a Pottery studio! Small but bright with lots of good natural light. Friendly potters and artists. You can take private lessons or just sign up to work during open studio times. Three wheels and a nice space for hand building.
