If you’re reading this and considering FHB for an auto loan, don’t. Online setup and auto draft was a pain to set up. There’s limited functionality through their website. We had auto draft set up which paid off the loan a month early. About a month later, I still had not received any car documents or the refund for the excess that was paid to finish off the loan. Then I got a notice for another upcoming auto draft even though the loan was paid off and they still hadn’t refunded the extra. Once the loan was paid, all access online was removed and I couldn’t access what limited functionality was there to begin with. I called FHB to find out what was going on and this all seemed new to them. After talking to folks in different departments (and having to start over with a new call each time because they couldn’t transfer the call) I was assured it would be sorted out. I was also told this last week when I called so we’ll see. Find a different bank for your auto loan.

Worst bank ever. So many hidden fees and customer service is non existent. They said I signed up for a free trial of bill pay (which I didn't) and that converted into $5.99 after the trial. I never used it and they have charged me for a solid year and won't refund me.

Been there twice now and My All favorite place to bank is in Kapahulu's First Hawaiian Bank. Had to get to the bank and the line was a bit long. This nice young lady came to offer her help. Walked over to the counter where You also can get help. I was able to pay my rent and balance it out. Of course I had to initial here, here in and here. Ok, She did balancing.. Dawn! I guess I left my keys on her desk because she was sprinting to get it back to me. Sprinting.. that's customer service...

I have had an absolutely terrible experience with First Hawaiian Bank. They have hit my account with fraudulent charges with no explanation whatsoever. Additionally, they have double-charged my account not once, but numerous times. The customer service, which used to be decent, has gone straight downhill and is now the worst I’ve ever encountered.
What’s more, I’m not sure if I’ll ever get those funds back. When I try to transfer money, I get prompted that I’ve used my weekly limit of $4,000 after sending only a measly $100 payment via a 3rd party app. This whole situation is incredibly discouraging and has caused me immense mental stress and anxiety. They should offer a zero star review ?♂️
I highly recommend withdrawing your funds and placing them in a safer place. Avoid First Hawaiian Bank at all costs!

WARNING : Fraudulent charges are the norm for this bank! Take all your money out and put it in somewhere else! Note ….. there IS a monthly service change on these accounts and these probably fund the pockets of the top executives there! FHB you deserve NO stars.

Since the beginning of 2023, there have been a number of unauthorized withdrawals from my First Hawaiian Bank account that I don't remember. I have contacted First Hawaiian Bank's Japanese customer service several times via email, but they are very slow to respond, and when I call the English customer service, I am either put on hold or never get through to them.
◾️Are banks allowing fraudulent transactions to continue? ◾️ Even if I deposit money into my account, I'm afraid that it will be fraudulently withdrawn again, so I can't deposit money.
After consulting with several people living in Hawaii, they recommended a different bank other than First Hawaiian Bank.

Going to close my personal and business accounts after 25 some years. Customer service has gone down in the past year it is very bad. The banking hours have been changed so you cannot make business deposits on a Friday after 4:00pm. No return emails, phone calls, I made a business account deposit at a main branch on 11/16/23 from a local bank branch Bank Of Hawaii. Normally money would be made available the next business day because it is a local bank. I had some checks coming in the following day thus overdraft fees is this done on purpose. YOU BET YA) Do not open an account and close all that you may have. Also spoke to a MNGR at the University branch (ALEX) He was very rude and condescending.

I’ve been a costumer of FHB for over 30 years. The service has just plummeted. If you need any help, you need to go the branch and wait because the phone help is so terrible. If you have an IT problem, good luck, because the branch can’t help you and the phone and online help is so terrible, expect to wait 1 hour plus to get help.This wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t say “you will be helped in 30 seconds” for35 minutes. I know it said “seconds” because it restarted 30 seconds every 5 minutes. I even gave a grave 5 minutes when it didn’t pickup after 30 minutes.It’s terrible to drive to the branch, wait in line to ask the question before you’d ever be helped via the phone. Also, so much cannot be done online, if you have a question, a lot of times it’s call our number. I guess FHB never heard of under promise over deliver, don’t quote me some rosy time and then not deliver, I rather get a clear estimate and know I should’ve just driven in than wait near an hour, before needing to drive in anyway.The recent debit card doesn’t work reset your pin has also been a massive headache.I’m ready to take my money out and move to a credit union it become so bad.

I waited 2 weeks to receive my new debit card and when it arrived the envelope wasn't even sealed and never was. Seriously?I had to cancel my previous debit card due to my card being compromised. Anyone could have accessed my new card.

After banking with FHB for over a decade, their newly changed online banking system is intolerable. Transfers are now with Zelle, which does not work with all receiving banks. Customer support could not provide a satisfactory solution after many phone calls and hours on hold.I would recommend anyone with business needs to look elsewhere.

FHB is horrible, that's why I take my millions elsewhere. But for the few times I have to go to FHB... it's horrible. Long lines, slow staff, etc.Here's an idea, add my tellers, especially around closing time!
