Mr. Brad Nelson, what a Great young man you'll find him in customer service. He helped me set up my account and explained it in a understandable manner. All the while helping me with questions I needed to research online for Social Security and direct deposit, for which I didn't know how? But it was this that will have a lasting impression on my heart, He pronounce my mother's maiden in its correct way of speech " what a Great guy ". So glad that I'm back at First Hawaiian Bank of Kapahulu.

15 ppl in line this morning and only 3 tellers to start with. After a couple customers one of the tellers left leaving only two tellers for a long line of ppl. These ppl customer service sucks! When asked to bring more tellers so the line can move along a little faster I was ignored. Stay away from this place if can. Shit!

Nostalgia...This was the bank that I used to go religiously as the list is a decently large for its location on busy Kapahulu right across the public library and gold course entrance. The bank itself is small though I never have to wait in line rather then waiting on me to get my ID out but the staff here is always friendly and helpful which is probably why it was my dad's most favorite location. The parking is different for first timers as it's one way so you exit taking you to the back exit on the right that will take you next to Texaco or to the left around the building bringing you back on Kapahulu. The town locations has me giving up this bank but simple and quiet locations like this makes me rethink that reasoning.Thank you!

The bankers are so friendly and the manager is the sweetest! Highly recommend! Banking here is easy and doesn't make me dread going into a branch.

Hustled down to deposit money by 1 pm, only to find out they’re closed Saturdays. Please update google so this doesn’t happen to others.

By far the worst bank in Hawaii. Poor customer service, overpriced charges. The so called Totally Free Checking has a $5.00 monthly fee!

There are two FHBs in Waikiki. This one and the other one near Waikiki Beach Walk. The one at WBW used to be along Kalakaua Ave., but has moved right next door. It is newly renovated, spacious, has friendly staff and they validate parking. However, it is pretty much right in the middle of Waikiki, so unless you are a resident, working in Waikiki, or a tourist, you're probably not going to want to go there. There's always parking at the Kapahulu branch, and even dedicated parking for the ATM. The tellers get the job done, but not as friendly as the WBW location. The main reason why I would prefer this location over WBW, is that at the customer service side, Gwynn assisted me and her customer service is top notch. She helped me with a few documents I needed for immigration processes for my wife. Every time in the past when I needed specific documents from the bank, there always seems to be a small problem, or someone doesn't know a specific part of the process, but she was always there to assist. Thank you! The main reason for the 4 stars is the exit back onto Kapahulu can be obstructed by the few street parking stalls in front of the bank. Usually it isn't a problem, but half the time I exit through there, there is a larger vehicle, or even small buses or vans that completely block your view of incoming vehicles.

Went to this branch to open another account today and was given a packet upon completion. When I got home, it turned out the person who helped me forgot to give me my new account number. I can't say the initial appointment went smoothly, but having to go back for the account number accompanied by a blank stare and no excuse or apology made it extra unprofessional.

Friendly staff, hand sanitizer, buttons for door, plexiglass at tellers. Phone service said I was in queue behind 20 other callers, faster to drive to the bank, never had a problem parking. Exit left back to Kapahulu, right exit to Texaco/Food Mart.

My overall experience with First Hawaiian Bank is very bad. I am going to close all my accounts with First Hawaiian Bank. I am tired of their crappy customer service. The Kapahulu branch is the worst. The Isenberg branch is really bad too. There are always long lines that move real slow, they don't have all the withdraw and deposit forms for the customers, the tellers take really long and the tellers are unfriendly and give you attitude,etc...Do your banking somewhere else. The service has to be better than First Hawaiian Bank. It couldn't be any worse!

Unfriendly employees that delivered slow service. I felt like I was being judged. Awful place to do banking!

Walked into the bank and there was no sense Aloha. Customer service was horrible. The teller was not. friendly or courteous. I went in to cash a check and there was no thank you or anything. I didn't feel welcomed at the branch and I won't go back. I would recommend you to go another location.
